They do not want to meet to answer your Q's - they have already shown by their actions that they are on a "witch hunt" (pardon the phrase).I'm not telling you what to do, just giving you some advice, I would call them and let them know you know about them questioning your family and since they did not apply the advice in Matthew and go to you and your husband first, But rather spread vicous rumors and gossip about you - that you both decided not to meet with them at all. And tell them you don't give a hoot what they do because it will be on their conscience and when THAT day comes, THEY will have to explain their actions to JEHOVAH!

I just don't understand how anybody will allow somebody else to tell them who they can and can't talk to and be friends and family with. The more I read about somebody's feelings on the receiving end of shunning, the more upset the practice makes me.

I never let the elders tell me who I could and could not talk to. There was at least two seperate occasions I ran into a disfellowshipped person and I still had a conversation with them. At the time I figured if they wanted to come back to Jehovah, perhaps my being nice to them was the ticket they was needing. Why can't these idiots see you really do attract more flies with honey than vinegar?

Wow. They were simply building a case against you instead of getting you the information you requested (because they don't have it). It is easier for them to slander you than come to you with no answers. I am glad you are not going to meet with them. Don't give them the satisfaction. You are one tough gal!!

Your own idea of 'just send any answers to the ?'s in the mail' is a great adder to the above.

As JT always said about JC's and such eLDER meets: they won't give you a forum (for your questions). They are just ready to 'out you'. So you shouldn't give them any more of a forum.

Use the above strategies and toss out your last response, but keep them at bay.

You know what you will hear, via the grapevine, shortly after the next interface, no matter what happens or what you do.

Ostensibly you and your husband were way up on the watchtower totem pole for your actions and questions to be causing the stir. You've turned the "rock" their relgion is founded on, into jello. I am so sorry that you are going through this.

The elders seem to have made up their minds about you, and are obviously prepared to let the lise and gossip continue. They won't answer your questions, because they can't. It seems they are out to get you, and they will probably succeed.

Stay strong, you know you have plenty of friends on here, and we are all rooting for you.
