I have a '96 Toyota T-100 pickup, and the engine light stays on. I went to Auto Zone, and they check it with a tester for free. They said my 0-2 sensors are bad. I also heard that when they are replaced, they have a tendency to strip or break, and this means a bigger repair bill.

Are they hard to replace? Can I do this myself?

2nd question....When I open my gas cap, I get no pressure release. My mechanic says it alll depends on what system was used on my vehicle. How can I find out if I have a pressurised system, or not?

    Thanks....

Oh, gosh! I must have one of those Pos as well. Mine started stalling on me last week. Almost everytime I come to a red light and have to stop, it stalls. I took it to the shop Sat. and it's still there. The mechanic checked it out, but still hasn't figured out what is wrong. A friend changed the fuel filter, but that didn't help. It's a 1990 Sentra Nissan. I can't afford a new one right now. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Thanks.

I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan (I know, prolly a pos) with 108k miles on it...a few months ago, I started hearing crunchy noises in my steering wheel when I made turns. About a month later, my airbag light is on, and I have no horn or cruise control (both on the steering wheel.) Is some wire disconnected or severed or something? My bf took the cover off the steering column and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary, but he wasn't quite sure what to look for, even after purchasing the manual for the vehicle. Any ideas?

(I looked up any recall info--does it have to do with this, perhaps?

Hubert your system is an older one and auto zone does not have the right scanner for it I would suggest take it to a shop that has the advantage or snap on cartridge for your system. If your o2 sensor is out and depending on how long your check engine light has been on you may need a new cat remember auto zone sells parts not repairs and they are not mechanics. Get a new gas cap. What year is your truck?

Kenneson have them check your IAC motor that is the idle air control motor or valve.

Gwyneth yes there is a recall on that and it is not a fuse but something in the column and needs a pin test to find the source of the problem it could be a number of things but not anything real expensive be careful of shisters as they will try to sell you a lot you don't need or understand go to the dealer Your car is not a pos like elsewhere who is a person I don't understand as he seems bigotted

Hubert I forgot to mention some of the 02 sensors are on the manifold and some are underneath before the cat

Kenneson also have them check your ignition coil and modulator did you have bosch plugs? Could be the cause of your problem.

My kid has a 2003 VW Beetle. I took it in for a wheel alignment and they said they couldn't do it because the rear axle was "tweeked" and it would cost $1600.00 to fix/replace. This car has NEVER been in a collision and I think these people are lying sacks of you know what.

    Ham, what should I do?
