This is just sick. She's lost virtually everything, and now they want to take away one of the few pleasures she has left. I say let her have a drink if she wants to, and damn their stupid rules.

    OMG This is stupid!

Ok, I am the power of attorney for her health. Dumb me, a few years ago, I didnt feel the need to make copies yet. I took it down to the clinic, for them to put it in the system. They gave me an authorization sheet to get her records. I didnt get the POA papers back. They lost them! Now, they wont even let me make her an appointment!!!!! She needs to get a TB test, to live where she is. She has 30 days from the move in date! Its been two weeks, and they wont let me make an appointment, cause she was deemed incompetent!

Live and learn, make copies of all important documents!!!!

So, anyway, just got a call from her doc. The reason she wont approve alcohol is this. My mom is on anti depressents for a chemical imballance. Also is on zanax, for panic attacks. If she would happen to fall, they could say that mixing the alcohol with her drugs caused it! I can understand that.

I pleaded with her. I said she has had every thing taken away from her. Please dont do that too! She said she could be sued, and loose her licence. I said I understood. I asked, what if they remove the zanax, which is a mind altering drug. She understood fully where I was coming from, and said she would talk to a few doctors, and get their opinion on it, and maybe change her decision! Lets pray she does!

    Awwwwww ((((((((Buttlight&Mommy))))))))))

I feel bad for her! God, its like there is no end to your mothers woes. Hell, if I was going through what your mother is going through I would have a case next to me at all times. I am sure the doctors know and fully understand your pleads. However, in the medical field they just want what is best for her health.

Hey, if you and I have to on a Friday night take her out and play bingo, I am there. I have always wanted to play bingo with a bunch of old lushes(including you Butt...lol)

Well, name no. Cigs they took, and locked them up in the cabinet lol (only give them to her when she goes out to have one)

Well, one drink a day mixed with her meds wont kill her. Im on the same meds and Im still kicken! The doc isnt worried about that. She is worried if she falls after having a drink, she could loose her licence. My Sis in law works at a nursing home. She told me all the doc has to do is put on the sheet "Is ok for her to have an occasional cocktail (per family request) That gets her off the hook!
