I like that.
What I want to know is, if I can live peacefully with persons of other faiths, why can't everyone?
That's what really frustrates me about the human race, and it's all down to ignorance!!

Symbology is an interesting topic, huh? I hadn't seen that picture before, but find it intriguing. Most folks are oblivious to true tolerance, prefering a surface pretense to the subconscious transformation that is required.
I can't help notice that Islam and Christianity are furthest apart
In a fundamentalist sense they are the furthest yet nearest in idealogy and implicit methods. And yet, ironically, the cross is not a uniquely Christian symbol...

Amazing
Zeroday,
Without religion men would not have a reason to massacre each other. Then there would be peaceful coexistance.
I agree you that religioin is a big cause ... especially the more radical ... but even if we ended all religion, humans would still find plenty of reason to fight one another ... and for no good reason. Look at what happened to Dansk's son, Karl. He was mugged by a bunch of godless punks, no religion involved. We humans are what we are. It is all about choice ... and some will always choose to harm others.

Jim:
Further to that, we've heard in the news this week, in Britain, about a bunch of boys beating and burning to death an innocent 15 year-old white boy on the grounds of skin colour. IMHO intolerance is a condition not dependant so much on religion per se as a particular perversion of conviction using any idealogy as a catalyst/excuse. -

One area where religion does go above and beyond in stifling humanity is its demand for both total obedience and opposition to any evidence to the contrary. Religion now is, especially in my country, the core oppostion to scentific research and advancement. There's more religion has to answer for than just wars.

Mostly, I mean the former. Keep in mind, I live on the Colorado Plains, and much of our political leadership are fundamentalists, from here to Kansas, Texas and Iowa. These are the people trying to teach creationism in schools.
