I'm sorry to hear of your loss Seeker.
Same thing happened to my Dad. He retired and got cancer right after. Died within 1 year.
Thank you for reminding us not to take life for granted.

Sorry Seeker,
I buried my lifelong friend who I knew since I started first grade in 1950 in 2004, and my adult mentor in 2001. There's sure a void for a while. I hate to hear about a young death like your friend. It makes for sober reflection. -
