Good points, it was indeed the God called Mammon (material wealth) that got the FDS elected, chosen, and not the Spirit of God. This was and still is a private religion a private enterprise run by mainly unknown people, the GB only control doctrinal issues. It is today a massive multi bilion dollar operation.
Researching the WBTS is painful and shocking

Hi RR, "Rutherford, then had them void, because, being the women hater he was, women shouldn't have a say in the affairs of God. So he took the shares for himself, giving him the majority." How did Rutherford do this legally? Shares in a corporation cannot just be made void because they are worth $$$. Did he buy them out? If he did void them then he would have stole money from them along with violating Russell's will (in still another way) --VM44
That's not all the Judge stole. He stole the shares, he stole the Society, he stole the presidency, he stole .....

"Every $10 contributed to the Society entitled its donor to one voting share." "When he died, of course, according to law, his votes died with him." What law says that when a person dies that their voting shares in a corporations dies along with them? If this is true, then why did Charles Russell think he could bequeath (transfer through a will) his voting shares? Wouldn't he have known the law concerning such matters? Who was his adviser, Rutherford? --VM44
Bingo! Jehovah's Witnesses were founded on deceit and continue the deceit till this day! RR

So it really wasn't a democratic method of decision-making; it was plutocracy. - Amazing.
I think it should be noted that while Russell held majority shares, it did not grant him anything more than to be an officer of the Society. Just because he held majority shares did not mean he held title to the Society, as a legal entity, the Society was run by a board of directors. When this board was elected every year, they would then get together and vote for their officers, Pres, Vice Pres, Sec'y Treasurer, etc. There was no editorial committee, Russell was sole editor of The Watch Tower. Of course believing that he was "That Servant" of Matthew 24, the board gave him full reign. You'll notice also that the Society was simply publisher of Russell's books, Russell held onto the copyrights. In his will, he states that he gave all his writings to the Society. RR

What gets me is that this voting system, based on $10.00 per share was the foundation for what today is considered Gods sole channel to mankind.
My husband tried to get an answer as to how this transpired and no one was able to answer him.
The JW's just assume it is so, there are no questions asked, and how dare anyone question this!!!
Thanks for all your repsonses.
