thats wonderful news !!!
frannie, i am soooo happy for you!!!!
Thank you all so very, very much for sharing my good news and excitement!
My son "escaped" into the military when he was 17. He had been in some juvenile trouble and was DA'd by the local yokels while "in absentia." They had not contacted him at all and left that little meadow muffin-like piece of news for ME to deliver to him when he returned. It broke his heart and mine, too, and that's when he escaped into the military. I didn't see him for 5 yrs. He came to visit us in 1988 a few months before we moved out to California. At that time, I met his wife and my first g/son (4mos. old at the time). He had married while stationed in Korea and lemme tell yall......Korean and Irish makes beautiful babies. :)
After he and his family went back to Colorado and I moved to California with my youngest son, we lost contact in 1991, when we both moved. It'll be a LOT of catching up to do. It's difficult to imagine my 6' 2", 225 lb., strawberry blonde, blue-eyed son at age 41 now with almost grown sons.
He gave me all their cell phone numbers and their home phone number so I could call Jeannie (his wife), but she's not answering, so I'll have to wait until this evening to talk with them both.
BTW, I told him we had all left the religious cult and his response was, "You finally figured that out, huh?" :)
Frannie (doing a happy, happy dance)
Wow, it's nice to hear some good news. Congrats, Frannie.
CONGRATS FRANNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is wondeful news....
Waiting for the rest of your update when you reach them by phone...
My first thought would have been ' How the hell can such a thing happen?', except similar happened to me. Mom moved to Colorado right after divorcing my dad, which coincidently followed her being DF'd for smoking. I lost track of her there, due to her somewhat transiency, then we moved to Texas, and poof, I could not find her for a couple of years. We knew where, but not precisely. So it can happen.
Thanx for sharing that with us - happy reunion! Any plans to get together face-to-face and get caught up?
Good for you, Frannie. Keep us informed.
Jeff
Fran & AK-Jeff,
Texas and Colorado seem to be correlating highly with losing contact with your family!!
