Unc, that meat pasties recipe is a "keeper" for sure! They look and sound scrumptious!

I have seen Pasties advertised in the upper pennisula of Michigan - but never had one. They must be regional - I doubt many people here have eaten one.

They look good though - and the floating pie looks tasty.

IN fact all the recipes look great. I am putting on weight just looking at this thread.

Pasties are big in my home state (SA) due to an influx of Cornish miners to mine copper in the mid 1800's. The miners wives made them using the leftovers of last evenings meal.

Tigerman, even if we couldn't afford a Thanksgiving feast, there are local charitable organizations or churches that sponsor free Thanksgiving meals for the homeless and they're open to the public on Thanksgiving day in most American cities, even the ones that aren't large cities.

Kewl, Unc! No wonder I've always loved 'em. We make 'em up as pot pies here.

Yes, you CAN buy a chicken and stuff it like a turkey...heheh

Oh, NO, Unc! It's a Cajun dish and extremely delicious. It's a deboned turkey, stuffed with a deboned duck, stuffed with a deboned chicken and all have dressing between their layers! Tender and juicy and LUSCIOUS! You need a "Cajun care package," Unc.

Mary, that turducken pic looks SCRUMPTIOUS!
