hate the hypocrisy within the organization...many contradictions. the teaching is what i hate. not the people who get caught up in the teaching.
No I don't hate jws, or anyone else. I feel sorry for most of them, as they are still trapped by a belief system that I am so happy to have broken free from. I actively work against them in the area in which I live, and further afield by means of my bf's website, but that is because I genuinely want to help others to escape, or not join at all.
Understandably, some, if not most of us on this discussion
board have had one or two incidents regarding individuals
within the organization. But does this justify hating them?
Depends on the circumstances. Some members of this board have been sexually abused by Elders. Do you think they might have an "axe" to grind?
I disagree with the premise of your argument. First, most criticisms on this board are directed at the ORGANIZATION, not "individual" JWs.
In this sense, hating a multi-billion corporation that has swindled, lied, acted as false prophets, caused the deaths of thousands of people due to a ridiculous blood ban, torn families apart, ruined futures and prevented people from getting adequate educations is ENTIRELY justified. And a more appropriate illustration in contrast to the picture you pasted of the two grinning idiots out in field service would be the following, "silent" yet effective protest against the WTS:
Dear KidA:
The threads are designed in such a way as to
provoke thought. They are not designed to
take a stand or a position on any matter.
What is essential regarding the threads is
that it gets individuals involved in lively
discussions and in turn helps someone who
maybe going through that particular matter.
Although, you may "hate" what I have to say,
there is a good motivation behind it.
And, that is the bottom line.

Not at all. In fact, I can only think of a few of them that I would say I even dislike. Outside the religious environ, that is.
While acting as agents of the organization behind the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" they are detestable, but only in their role as the face and spokespeople of the detestable organization they represent.
Respectfully,

wanderer .. . you were in for 14 years. Come back with 14 years of reality under your belt and ask us the same questions.
Sometimes, I go through temporary spells where I feel like I hate the men who comprise the Governing Body. But, once I cool down; I realize that I surely do not hate them as people. I do not hate any individual JWs. There are still dozens; if not hundreds of individuals that I still love very much.
As of right now, I truly hate the overall ideology which justifies the various methods that are employed to manipulate, coerce, and control people. I hate the intellectually dishonest, hypocritical, and callous climate which contributes to the rediculous policies and doctrines that get manufactured in Brooklyn.
I am reading Raymond Franz's book: "In Search Of Christian Freedom". This book is helping me greatly in my healing process. It is helping me have a much deeper understanding into the very "Centralized Authority Structure" ideology which began to develop centuries ago.
Franz provides a very unique and enlightening look into how various JW doctrines developed; and how they are propagated today. His book is helping me move from anger and bitterness toward having pitty for those who are still enwrapped in the organization's control.
I "hate" being advised to be lively. Makes me want to wear grey cotton long-johns and shuffle around in wool socks.
Do you hate Jehovah's Witnesses or the organization?
Individual Witnesses? No. I loved one so much I married him. I have been very angry at those in authority in the organization for their abuse of power and treament of the vulnerable. The organization? The organization is not a person. I think it's structure and organization is self-perpetuating and evil. It needs to be dismantled.
Have you worked out your ill will toward them?
When they stop abusing people.
What is your general viewpoint of Jehovah's Witnesses?
I distinguish between the organization and individual members. Members tend to identify with the organization very strongly, but they are separate and apart. Individual members? Deceived and compromised. I say compromised because they have traded the richness of Christ for a counterfeit. I generally find witnesses to be judgemental of others and desperate for acceptance. In the heart department, poverty stricken.
Jehovah's Witnesses the organization? Haughty and removed from the needs of it's congregation.
Hi Wanderer,
To answer your question - No I do not hate Jehovah's Witneses at all. I don't feel many here hate the Witnesses either. Most of the hostility on this board is directed towards the Watchtower Organization but not towards individual Witnesses.
Many of us still have family and good friends that are being held captive by the WT and we hope and pray each day for their release.
The world will be a much better place without the WT organization. But most Jehovah's Witnesses are good people who are trying to do what they feel is sincerely right in God's eyes. Peace, Lilly
