I reckon Satan won the argument......what do you think ?

Good Girl or Bad Girl?
I've often wondered what kind of all-powerful, all-knowing god picks this "argument" in the first place... so he's trying to prove a point, right? That we (humankind) NEED him, cannot live or rule without him, and HIS means to this end is to sit back and watch humankind destroy each other, perform all kinds of monstronsities against one another (i.e. war, holocaust, etc.), and then EVENTUALLY say "I told you so".
Am I understanding this correctly?
Or how about this one: if God is so perfect and all-knowing, then how did he manage to create something/someone that became Satan anyway? And then what guarantee is there that another "Satan" won't come along after the thousand-year reign...?
I'd say NOBODY won the argument. God proved that he's a jackass that is too proud to back down, even giving up his "only-begotten son" and harrassing the hell out of poor innocent Job too, among countless other instances. I can't remember what Satan was trying to prove, maybe that he could get the world to follow him, or that he could at the very least get the world to stop following God... well I'd say the world is doing whatever it wants, not following anyone, really, but following whatever suits their fancy, making up their own gods and demons to get through the day.

Yeah, I reckon satan is winning hands down.
A mere 6.5 jws, and a fair number of them aren't that sincere, against 6 billion non jws? No contest

No monotheistic, omniscient, omnipotent "God" I can conceive of could possible "need" anything, much less the subjucation of little old us.
Cui bono?! Who benefits? Certainly not the God I could possibly conceive of. Who benefits? Who... really... benefits? Why, the men who (claim to) speak for God!
It's all a facade, all a game of control.

I really think you guys are missing the point completely, I also don’t like the WTS but I don’t take it out on God.

No, I think we get Vitty's point very well. To what point are you referring?
So, id say satan is the winner. Now Jehovah knows ( knew) this and so instead of shaking hands and saying "yep, you were right" he decides to kill everyone !!!!!!!
The point I'd like to see made is that the WTS' "Jehovah" is not God. It is a facsimile created by the WBTS with help from their translation of the bible, a questionable source at best.

I agree with Daystar. I'm not shooting down God, but the WTS's rendition of God.
P.S. Daystar, I didn't mean that God needs us, but that he wanted to prove that we need him.

I got that, but why would he need (want) anything at all, including to prove that we need him? It puts a rather human face on a being that is supposedly ultimately beyond human comprehension, anthropmorphization of a (the?) force of the universe to take on human characteristics like desires, wants, needs, jealousies...

Daystar, OK, I agree with that statement. But isn't that what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach about God? And doesn't the Bible give God human characteristics (i.e. God is a jealous God; God is love)? Well I think that would be one of the main points in what is wrong with the teachings in the first place. So what is the "point" that God is trying to prove (and by "God" I mean the Witness God) by not intervening for 6000 years or whatever it is... I'm rusty on my timing....?GGBG
