A Bible verse says " ..the One planting the ear can He not listen?"

Yes. God speaks to me through my hair dryer. Every morning.

WAIT. Is it talking about corn? I'm confused.

The question is not, Do I communicate with God (as in prayer); but rather, "Does God communicate with you?" Answer: Yes. By means of his Son, Jesus Christ.

    Fisherman,

Some people seem to think this is in the "Humour" forum but since this is in the "Bible" forum, I take it that this is a serious question and it would be good to read your thoughts.

    Hiya Ozzmeister!

I'd also be interested in hearing exactly HOW god or Jesus communicates with anyone. You wanna start Inkie?

    Absolutely!
So far, I have not heard a booming voice say that I should buy a new Jet... or that I should invest in annuities.
But I have heard his voice in other (less audible) ways. When I sincerely search for Him.... Reading his book... or listening to my conscience..... If you tune in and truly listen, he will respond.

Does everybody hear Him while reading the Bible. No, only those "with ears to hear" can.

Does God answer you during prayers? I don't know... Do you ever shut up long enough for him to get a word in? Meditating on Him, and His word can produce some amazing effects.

Some people might say that this is nothing more than a dietization of some internal dialog or emotion... i.e. (the personification of the good and evil entities within all of us) But has any psychiatrist, sociologist, or cultural anthropologist even come up with a practical theory on why we possess a conscience, in the first place.

Is it naive to believe in something as intangible as an invisible God? People that say so often create far more fanciful "invisible" explanations for the support of their ideas....... Anyone with eyes can see the handiwork of a higher power in all of the universe.
Until science can come up with a logical explanation for how something as "simple" an ant can exist and function, I'll take my chances elsewhere..... and continue to search for, and listen to, Him

Sorry, Ozzie, I knew it was inappropriate, but sometimes I just can't help myself.

I'm sorry, Fisherman. Laughter is the best medicine? I'll be good now, I promise. I would like to hear your thoughts on this as well. Please forgive.

I have tossed this over a few times.....

No way of knowing what if any of our thoughts are truly our own..or a higher power commmunicating with us.

he may have helped einstian build the bomb so we could destroy ourselves for Him, saving Him the trouble and responsibility of doing it.

All I have is guesses..and questions.

Only God himself knows the true answer to that question...And I am not allowed to read his mind today.

I agree Gordy.....no argument from me, however I've never been knocked over with any miraculous happening personally I thought was from god in which I knew for certain it was him/her....her/him. Maybe I'm too stupid to see the obvious, who knows
