Best of luck Ballistic! I think its a case of finding a method that works for you. Work out what is the big temptation in smoking and find a way to confront that too.

I haven't smoked for five weeks now. Removing all stress has been the main reason. I find talking and being with people immensely stressful so have not seen or spoken to any humanoids except on line for the whole time (apart from the postman, my doctor and Mr C) and voila - I don't need to smoke! However cutting human beings out of one's life is a rather anti social method of stopping the anti social habit of smoking!

I told my daughter that I would quit, starting tomorrow!! Linda's quitting really gave me encouragement!! And reading that everyone else is, too!! We'll have to encourage each other!!

Yep..I took Wellbutrin last time I quit smoking..for 5 years! (Took the Wellbutrin for 3 months..)
Then when hubby died I had an old pack in the Microwave cabinet and took one out and smoked it..still doing it.
I thought maybe the great smoke out we have in November would be a good time to stop..plus I have a Dr appt. this month so I could get another Prescription..
I didn't know Wellbutrin and Zyban were the same thing?
With the Wellbutrin I still wanted to smoke but was distracted easily..so I didn't go bananas because I didn't get one!
Didn't make me sleepy or anything else..maybe because I am too hyper...

Apparently so, I see the US web site markets it as an anti-depressant. I don't think it's approved for that use over here, so the UK web site just talks about giving up smoking. Ironically, listed on the list of side effects is... depression.

Good luck. It is SO worth it. Not so you can live forever in paradise on earth but so you can enjoy the life you have now to a greater degree.
