Sadly it's true.
Since so many cases are "one word against another", on the unwritten scale of things a testimony is deemed more reliable or of more value on the following scale:
- Ranking JW male (e.g. C.O., Elder, etc.)
- Pioneer and/or MS male
- Baptised male adult
- Pioneer female
- Baptised male child
- Baptised female adult
- Baptised female child
- Baptised female adult with short skirt
- Non-baptised, raised as a JW
- Unbaptised study
- "Worldly" person
- "Worldly" person with short skirt
- Religious leader
- Religious leader with short skirt
- Smurf
Some crimes are deemed less likely, and so the weight of evidence to prove them is greater (inversely proportional). Paedophilia, Murder, Homosexuality (unless the voice has a distinct nasal quality, and gestures are deemed effeminate, in which case, who needs a Judicial Committee, just fry the poor sod!), Adultery, Fornication, Theft.
Hence if a guy stays overnight with a young boy the car outside will likely be insufficient, since there's the double whammy of homosexual paedophilia involved. Correspondingly the evidence will be expected to be very great indeed, from what they deem as two or more very reliable witnesses, preferably Elders
