In the latest keynote address, three qualities were listed that a Witness must have to survive Armageddon; speech, conduct, and attitude. Emphasized under conduct were dress and grooming. Slogan clothing, tattoos, and multiple body piercings were highlighted. Do you remember how the speaker would amplifiy the important part, thundering across the audience? They still do that. Here's the thundered message yesterday, "The big concern is, what can be seen on the outside is just a reflection of what is going on inside the head." There you have it, folks. You don't have to be kind to your neighbour, forgive generously, or love abundantly. What Jehovah's approved organization cares about is your dress. It's not the inside of the cup that matters, but the outside (Matthew 23:35-36). Dress right, and Jehovah's dark angel will pass you by.
As a side-note, I'd like to confirm Blondie's suspicion that the society is whipping the congregation in to another end-time fury. This time though, no dates. Here's two direct quotes from the talk, "Ample indication to suggest that the day is near." and "We are very near the day of Jehovah's fury."
I also was surprised that the speaker admitted that statistics bear out that Witness children who attend higher education either drop out to serve Jehovah, or earn their degree and "leave the truth".
