Hey Abandoned!
I was reading your comments and all that came to mind was how different we see ourselves than others do. I've read the responses/reactions from the board and I am going to echo their sentiments. you sound like a great guy, very witty and communicate your feelings like a poet. in a short time, you have made many friends here and that just isn't because we feel your pain (ex-jw crap) but find your posts insightful, thoughtful and your words paint a visual all of us can understand. these are qualities of a quality individual, you are already one of my favorite posters here so my heart aches to hear of your tough times.
I don't want to turn this into cliche time but something that was shared with me sometime ago I have never forgot and that is, the fastest way to make your dreams come true is to wake up. you have our support, internet shoulders to lean on and whatever else we can offer while you handle, adjust and overcome. this too shall pass..
If nothing else, remember how your thought of here and even more than the full figured women, Gordon has a crush, HA!

It may look like your friend has the world by the tail, but everyone, EVERYONE, has problems not always visible to others. Just the fact that you escaped the JWs at all means you're better off than the poor JW shlubs who remain trapped in their cult. They wouldn't know the truth if it came up and kicked them on the ass. -

Abandoned you have a gift for poetry. When we did that poem together it was such a release for me. I remember saying to my daughter -she has chronic fatigue and depression through slaving for the wts but is coming out of prison now - lets start putting our feelings down in verse, but we never got round to it. I'm gonna start today
Do it!!!! I'd be dead today if it weren't for writing.
Let the thoughts flow first and learn form and structure later. Experiment and find what you love and what you feel you have a knack for and find a label for it afterwards.

Outaservice, Thanks for the compliment. I have written fourteen songs and I'm trying to get up the courage to get them published. I'm making progress, but the hardest part about writing for me is the marketing, and today, marketing is vital.

You men judge yourselves quite harshly and compare yourselves to others alot.
Personal growth that is born out of the adversity we as ex JWs have suffered through and overcome can really produce some great character in us. Survival is key. We can not allow the ghosts of the past haunt our new days.
The best part of us is who we are, how we love, not what we own or where we live.
