I've always thought Starbucks coffee had a burnt flavor to it. That explains it!
I buy it all the time but I put lots of stuff in it as well.

Try Dunkin' Donuts coffee...for a change.
I love the chai latte and the peppermint mocha. But those are my treats on Fridays. I'd be broke if I bought one everyday. Mon-Thrusday I get a tall coffee of of the day. It's only $1.52. And I usually add a little non-fat milk and cinnamon.
I live in the Land of Starbucks.............Seattle area.
Two of our granddaughters work at Starbucks............they each get a free pound of coffee every week, more than they and the folks can drink, so they share. The girls get to drink anything they want during their shifts, so they probably don't drink much coffee at home. I have a pound of Christmas Blend in the cupboard from them. Yummy! My favorite coffee blend is Gold Coast.
Occasionally I will buy a latte but mainly I get Americanos. I love COFFEE, but I am partial to eggnog and gingerbread lattes. Where we live there are about 8 Starbucks within a 1 mile radius. Almost all the grocery stores I go to, have one inside too. The only one that doesn't has one at the end of the parking lot. Two drive through ones, very near also.
Despite the fancy packaging it's old. Look at the expiration date on any package of Starbucks beans, it's sometime in the next 6-18months.
To get the best pricing they buy all the beans they can and as a result they have to over roast to get a consistant product, which is part of their appeal; the same cup, the same atmosphere, the same experience everywhere in the world.
Have to disagree with you............it may be old, but the flavor cannot be beat, in my opinion.
People who don't like the bitter flavor, choose a milder roast. Many prefer Seattle's Best for that reason................bought out by Starbucks, by the way, but they kept the style of coffee for those who prefer it, and the name.
Interesting fact, I learned from my granddaughters: The darker the roast, the less caffeine. The long roasting process takes out some of the caffeine, so the milder roasts have more caffeine.
I'm a Timmie's fan all the way but I do drink Starbucks. I find the taste too heavy (I drink my coffee black) so I always ask the counter staff to cut it with water and it makes it much more drinkable. Coffee - one of life's little pleasures......sammieswife.
I remember the original Starbucks, and the second one for that matter. But then I can remember the original Red Robin too.
I love the pepperming mocha.
Hey Sailor Ripley,
I may be a little behind, but I had my first STARBUCKS in the not too-distant past. I was really nervous about some test results---a really long wait, too. When I learned the results were negative, I celebrated over my first highly-esteemed cup, purchased at an ALBERTSON'S SUPER MARKET. A very special day, indeed! The ambiance was to die for.
Cafe au lait all the way Jose',

They are just downstairs from where I start my day.............I treat myself to Mocha Lite Frappiccino sometimes.........I would probably drink more of them if when I walked by the line was not so long.

After my son worked at Starbucks and gave us the ins and outs, we switched.
I also agree with the "burnt flavor". We buy our coffee from Costco and have found something we love. Plantation Gold Exotic Origins. ....Tansanian Peaberry....Fresh beans we grind every morning.
