    Zico!!!! I would call you unAmerican, but since you are from England, perhaps thats just a big Duh! Its just a coffee place like McDonalds is a fast food burger place. ONly the coffee is MUCH better than the hamburgers. . .Order a tall white chocolate Mocha (don't stand around gawking and asking why they call it a tall, you'll look like a coffee virgin) Trust me, its good!

    Starbucks is not TOO expensive compared to other coffee places. If you get extravagent, then you can really hurt your wallet, but just a cup of whatever you like is only a few dollars. If this keeps you from the fast food joint or the convienience store, it evens out. If you are hooked, buy there too often, then invest in those machines that allow you to make fancy stuff at home.

    I prefer Caribou Coffee, or local brewhouses, but Starbucks is everywhere, easier to find.

    Starbucks employees must be taught to act snobby. I remember ordering a small, medium, or large- the employee trying to correct me and asking if I wanted talle, grande, or vente (I think that's right). I never let them correct me. I say again "medium, you know the middle size." But don't piss them off, they are making YOUR drink.

    I live in the Land of Starbucks .............Seattle area.

    What was weird in Seattle, downtown- if you stand in front of any Starbucks, you can see the NEXT Starbucks. That's a bit extreme.

    Yeah, I spent a couple of hours in Seattle once, there were so many of them! But I was limited for time, since I had a boat to Alaska to catch, so I chose to use my time on the Space Needle. I'm not much of a coffee fan anyway, being British, I always prefer a cup of tea!

    So... am I the only person on the board who's never been to Starbucks?

    Nope...We don't have one!

    I would have to drive 2 hours and pay $40 to cross the bridge to get one...No thanks!

    JWDaughter, it's up the hill from Broadway, you could probably take Republican until you hit 15th and turn right. It's kinda across the street and down from the QFC.

    I find the taste too heavy (I drink my coffee black) so I always ask the counter staff to cut it with water and it makes it much more drinkable. Coffee - one of life's little pleasures......sammieswife.

    Holy Moly! This is a real red-letter day! Sammieswife and I finally have something in common! Usually we're @ 180 degrees.

    I'm so used to, since growing up in a small town, drinking "deer-camp" coffee, burnt/old/cold/brewed yesterday, I guess I don't know what's supposed to be good. I must like burnt/old. Ignorance really is bliss. I'll go and try other coffee elsewhere. We have Dunkin' Doughnuts I think. I'll go and check it out.

    Venti Regular is just the "whatever" they brewed that day, no whipped-cream, no fun, just coffee... and a little water, huh, Sammieswife?

    This was fun! Take care, friends.

    to get a consistant product, which is part of their appeal;

    If you think about it hard enough, Starbucks is McDonald's for adults. And I mean that in a good way. You know what you're gonna get, and it only costs you a couple of bucks, and they're everywhere.

    It is definitely not the ONLY coffee I drink

    but I LOVE IT TOOO!!!!

    Today, I went to Starbucks twice, getting a doppio espresso both times!!

    I saw cyd said it has a "burnt" flavor....I love the flavor, I don't think it tastes "burnt" actually, rich, smooth, caramelly, and nutty all at once.

    and I drink it straight, espresso, no flavor, no milk, no sugar, bleck!

    I hate sugary coffee.

    I like that they pay a fairer price to their farmers than say the

    NESTLE CORPORATION :::: FOLGERS DISTRIBUTORS

    NOT ONLY is it AWFUL coffee, they pay AWFUL prices to the farmers.

    One can always ask for the FAIR TRADE BLEND from Starbucks which is a couple bucks more, but pays the farmer a certified "fair trade" wage

    I buy that, and I see alot more "fair trade" on the shelves these days, my only problem w/ Starbucks fair trade is they don't have it in "BOLD"

    and my favorite is EXTRA BOLD coffee, like French Roast.

    Really good!

    Hey, its probably still fresher than folgers in the Stores!

    Seattle is Starbucks heaven isn't it?
