  You were invited to consider the figures pertaining to civilian deaths, and maybe even comment on them. You were even supplied them. Your comments aren't "conservative" at all, but are rather as unreasoned and emotional as the best of that "type" of rhetoric found on this thread. I'm genuinely looking through your comments wondering if I can find an ounce of sense in post after post of temper tantrum.

  Blinddevotion to the org is what most of us freed ourselves from. It seems that some people prefer to trade one blindness for another. I guess they need to feel a *sense* of security, even if it leads down the wrong path.

  Its interesting to see where threads like this go. Its really entertaining when people start questioning each others intelligence. People calling each other morons and idiots in Cyberspace. That always makes me LOL! Like the saying goes (really un-PC and offensive to some), "Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win you're still retarded."   That was my reaction upon just seeing the headline picture. I hadn't seen the video at that point.

  My thoughts were immediately drawn back to the last hanging in Britain, which I recall has a veil of doubt hanging over it as to whether or not the executed man was actually guilty!

  I don't doubt that Saddam was guilty of many things, but I understand that the reason he was initially captured was not because of any of these. That gives me pause for thought over what we are becoming, as a human race.

  Actually, that is not true at all.

  I believe that many who have been involved in debates and 'arguments' on this Board over the years will admit to have learned a great deal in the joustabout.

  Winning arguments of of little interest to me, as it is often through the vigorous defence of a point of view that some realities are gained, but the reality which may have evaded you is that there are some on this Board who know their stuff and have put effort into informing themselves, then others who are too lazy to do anything but hit the 'enter' button with minimal thought.

  Nothing to do with being 'retarded', more to do with intellectual laziness. It is a pattern played out over much of the worlds communication these days, and has all to do with handing out degrees by the millions to anyone with straight teeth and shares in a fast food chain and making millionaires of anyone prepared to display their ignorance in public without blushing.

  Sadam was lynched. The purpose of killing Sadam was to make it known to all who dare to defy the USA that the US may invade you and overthrow you and bring you down and humiliate you and kill you and your family. Beware! that you do not wind up like Sadam.

  AS for the crimes against humanity that SAdam was found guilty of doing,why didnt the superpowers do anything in the past to stop those crimes from taking place? Why wasnt the things on tv now about what sadam did in the past made public in the past? If the judges of all sovereinties knew about it then it was their duty to do something about it. Why did the Shah get special treatment when he was also acuused of similar attrocities? Anyway, "we got the oil." That is what really counts.
