Staying home with the hubby and kids. Right now the kids are watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and I'm about to fry up some potatoes.

We were going to Dayton but hubby's not up to it and I'm not too keen on ringing in the new year in the hood.

We'll be watching Dick Clark's Rockin New Eve. lol

Sent out group text msgs. to my friends (cell phone, in case some might not know) that said: "from ----: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! First official new year greeting since jumping off Jehovah's Witnesses--now There's cause for celebration!! ;^) " My worldly friends agreed and responded in kind. [I'm out of state visiting relatives, so my local buddies and I can only only text our sentiments to each other.]

    Already did.

16 members of my Sunday School Class went out for dinner earlier this evening.

Low key. Going to a friend's house for "game night". It is our second year having a game night on NYE. I spent the afternoon making artichoke dip, avocado/feta salsa and chocolate chip cookies to bring to the event.

My wife had to work tonight so I'm sitting here watching VH1's top 20 videos of all time. Right now Metallica's "One" is on. I love Metallica.

I just finished watching the 80's top 20 greatest videos. Micheal Jackson's "Thriller" was number one.

Just sitting here on this computer as my wife and sister are singing some religious songs together. Her sister plays the piano in church. It's 10 minutes before 2007. I'm ready for my bath and bed. Not much of a celebrater.

Well, I've already called all my family and wished them a happy new year (and my Grandma a happy birthday; she's 97 today!)

We're not so much about New Year's Eve as New Year's Day itself. I'll be making a more or less traditional "lucky dinner" for the family: Hopping John, cornbread, boiled greens and (my own addition) red coleslaw.

Alone at my computer with a bottle of champagne. There's 50 minutes remaining of 2006.
