Thanks for that clarity, RunningMan...here I thought for all this time it was for jumping up and leg-hunching Adam & Eve...

It is a great point and shows the limitations of Biblical philosophy. Men went to great lengths to explain death but "forgot" to explain death in the animal kingdom.

Does Jesus's sacrifice offer everlasting life to animals, will there be death in the new system. Over the years the WTS has looked at the physiology of the human body to make the point that we weren't meant to die. They mention things like the immune system and the brain. The only problem is the animals have these too.

How about all types of life? Will bacteria and viruses get everlasting life? How about amoebas and insects? Reptiles and mammals?

No, no, no. The animals have to die so they filter down through the sediment and make oil so we can run machines. This was part of Jehovahs grand plan from antiquity.

"Rover was tempted to eat a forbidden kibble by his bitch. "--Word! MF. I never trust my bitches, Dog.

    Welcome to the forum.

Perhaps so the earth is not over run? I don't know. But it sure is horrible when our pets die.

I wonder if in "Paradise" people will be able to have pets? Probably not. The Society seems in a back door way opposed to having pets. They make comments on their licking and other habits, etc. Perhaps our love for our pets border on "worship" - their usual nonsense. Seems like anything enjoyable they find something wrong with it.

When you're in the new system and your pet panda dies will you be sad?
Unhappiness is no more so you must just go 'Oh well, another hole to dig I suppose. I think I'll get a lion next'.

Nathan Natas said something that hit me like a kick in the teeth : “The doctrine that the "wages of sin is death" fails upon close examination, doesn't it?” Holy crap. If animals die because they too sinned, then by that logic they are just as sentient and just as sacred as humans, speaking in the spiritual/soul level. So... if God has no qualms about mandatory, regular animal sacrifice, what does that say about his respect for his own creations – or us humans!?

    " but why animals die?"

Maybe because no where does the Bible say that animals would live forever?

I very vaguely recall my father explaining to me about 50 yrs ago they died so that Adam would understand what death was and what would happen to him if he ate the forbidden fruit.

That question has always intrigued me, and I don't know the answer. But death in animals seems to be directly linked with the fall of mankind. The Genesis account (Gen 3 14-19) appears that God cursed the entire physical universe (serpent, cattle, beast of the field, even the ground). Which brings up these questions. How smart were animals in the beginning? Did they have anything to do with mans fall?

Another scripture that bothers me is Romans 8: 19-23. Bible repeadly speaks about "creation" eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Not just human., but all creation. Now you gotta ask, are animals somehow covered under a different "covenant" with God? In the beginning somehow did animals break away from God like humans did?

In Isaiah bible speaks about the Lion lying down with the Lamb. Is this literal or just symbolic?

Just some of my thoughts and ideas, afterall I'm just an evil, crazy, apostate sinner.
