To remedy this I suggest that hustler magazines be put in the KH bathrooms, that will get the attendance back to normal.
What you mean is, that will get the normal ones back to attend. BTW, what reading material are you recommending for the ladies room?
in this area it seems they are going strong. Mostly due to immigrants. B/c of needing spanish speaking halls, they have had to divide and now rebuild several times. So no slow down here.
we need to reach the spanish speaking (more)with the net. That is the next big step for xjws, reach the spanish speaking .
You know how when you were a kid and you took a cookie from a plate you tried to rearrange the rest of them to make them look like there were still as many there? I think the JWs do that. There is such a decline in attendance and support and membership in the United States that the Society does this shell game thing to keep people from noticing. We lost a lot of people in one congregation that was sharing the hall with another congregation that they eventually combined the two congregations...but then they shuffled the borders of a neighboring congregation and moved some of THEM around to make it look like Jehovahs arrangement that they "widen out" and not that they were running out of butts for the seats. People bought it too.
Yup...numbers dont lie.
I heard from someone who attended one of my local congregations that they only had about 20-25 attend on the Sunday they went. This in a congregation which at one time would get 150 easily in attendance on Sundays.
A lot of experts have said the JWs would not survive the internet, that they would be exposed.
Certainly it is having an effect. Information about the Watchtower is far more easier to get hold of now. We have sites like this one, Freeminds, Silentlambs etc etc. More spring up all the time set up by those of us who have left the WT. Even Christian websites now have sections on the JW's and their teachings. People are becoming more aware of what and who they are. When I became a JW in 1971 I could only find two books about them, and of course there was no internet. If I had what we have now back then there would have been no way that I would have become a JW.
This is what is happening when a JW calls now people can go to their computers and look them up. See what their teachings really are. See what they have done to peoples lives. When those with children see whats posted about JW 's and paedophiles they will think twice about having anything to do with them.
JW's calling on people will increasingly become aware that people are starting to ask questions about them and the Watchtower organisation. It will become increasingly more difficult to find anyone during the door-to-door work to become a JW.
Even now much of their increase comes internally from the families of JW's. But even this is starting to tail off.
They will eventually be left with a central core, the die-hards, those whose life has always revolved round the WT.
Listen to me my fellow worthless apostates!
Don't you know that Big "J" is up there with his mighty sifter and we "have all been sifted"...or at least that's what they told me.
Of course it took a "Worldly" to point out to me that it is the good stuff that falls thru and moves on while the crap gets stuck in the sifter.

Thanks Under_Believer, good points, I know it is a business descision and they have accumulated a lot of wealth, but the waters are dying up, numbers don't lie and people are seeing it for what it is. Good analogy though

Nice work. I'm going to mark you "GOOD" on "Fitting Illustrations" and ask you to move on to your next point of counsel.
When those last people aren't contributing enough to cover kingdom hall expenses, that hall will be sold, the money will go to WBTS and the congregations will be split and sent to other halls.
When those last people aren't contributing enough to cover kingdom hall expenses, that hall will be sold, the money will go to WBTS and the congregations will be split and sent to other halls. The Kingdom Hall was remodeled about 10 years ago for $85,000.They put in a new parking lot,new bathrooms, carpets, seats, lighting and window treatments. Each family was asked to contribute a fixed amount every month for the loan. This was to be paid in addition to any other expenses. With most members gone,How are they ever going to pay back this loan? Sell the hall and send the remaining members to another congregation.
