Our church does it three times a week. Once on Tuesday at noon for a healing Eucharist service. Then twice on Sunday. On Christmas Eve, we had three Eucharist services and one on Christmas morning. I went to two on Sunday and the one on Christmas. I had communion each time. Our ten year old grandson assisted the priest. He washed the priests hands, lit candles and other things. The Sunday before last, we had a crisis brewing, so I called the priest out here. He brought the Eucharist to us and set up an altar in our home and served it to us. He also came out tonight and gave us the Eucharist and a house blessing. If you can find a place to have it every day of the week, by all means, have it everyday of the week.

Anyway, they did tell me some stories about getting drunk on the leftover communion wine...every day... Those were probably just high-spirited young 'uns but it didn't seem quite right to me!

The wine is consecrated and blessed and cannot be thrown out. It has to be consumed by the priest or the priest and the eucharistic ministers. Sometimes there is enough left that a minister can get an unintentional buzz. Mother Val said it happened to her one Sunday. She excused herself to her office until the buzz lightened. Of course younger guys are going to find humor in this phenomenon.
