Hello Wanderer,
Prove 4:18 If one would read the context of this scripture with the first 8 chapters, this is Solomon and Jehovah in the bigger sense pleading with his son to choose between two choices or two roads
The dark or gloomy path and rejecting his councel and wisdom and by pursuing it would lead disastous,
The second road is the road of righteousness which would get brighter as you follow it, leading to happiness and favor
IT IS NOT a scripture that an organization of religion can use as a Safety Net to change doctrine, behavior or anything else and claim "No damage Done" If that were the case, any one religion can claim total "hey were sorry, just made a mistake, but we still have God's favor". The Scriptures in James says not many of you should be teachers as you will have a heavier judgement, How can you have a heavier judgement when you have a safety net that allows you to constantly change course whenever you want with no one to check your hand without impunity? Also in taking a look at Romans 3:4 Never may that happen! But let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, even as it is written: “That you might be proved righteous in your words and might win when you are being judged.”
verses 9-12 9 What then? Are we in a better position? Not at all! For above we have made the charge that Jews as well as Greeks are all under sin; 10 just as it is written: “There is not a righteous [man], not even one; 11 there is no one that has any insight, there is no one that seeks for God. 12 All [men] have deflected, all of them together have become worthless; there is no one that does kindness, there is not so much as one."
NOT ONE?HMMM!!!!! Why is anyone bragging unless it is in our weaknesses and in what the Christ has done as Paul stated?????
Now the Nation of Isreal: There can be no doubt they HAD favored nation status and they were a work in progress as God was willing to forgive many many times as they did not have complete knowledge. However their arrogance, their adding to the law and nulifying the scriptures and the hypocrisy did catch them and they lost favored nation status when they rejected the Christ as the last straw.
Witnesses do use the name of Jesus and teach we have a sacrifice, But they do not teach the Good News as Paul and others taught in the scriptures. The Good News lies in Christ as our sacrifice and there is nothing we can do, add to it, supplement the sacrifice and they do not teach men per say, to follow the Christ and point to Him as such. They teach the organization, the GB, the FD slave, the BOE, I was amazed when I started reading the Bible and taking off the blinders the role of our Lord, EVERYTHING revolves around Him, that is the story of the NT. So no I don't feel that the witnesses do justice to our Lord and in a large way have rejected His significance in the Bible, thus rejecting Him as they point men to follow the organization, not taking of the emblems of Christ sacrifice. This is not a small issue.
