(Since the Governing Body said it, it must be true! Glad to hear that 'they do not say this often', yeah right.)

All I can say is that they are sick bastards whom continue to play with the minds of the average J dub. As someone said it sounds like the lead up to 1975 all over again. They well know that many are starting to have doubts, so what better way to remove these doubts? Make comments like this one direct from the self appointed leaders to scare the crap out of the followers. It imputs into the mind of those who have doubts, "what if they are right and I leave the "truth" and armageddon comes, Jehooba will then punish me with death". It's all very, very sad that in this day and age, people as we all did once, continue to swallow this kind of garbage, hook, line and sinker!

Hasn't the GB always taught that we are in the time of the end? Is this recycled new understanding?

"......they don't normally make statements like that....."

Uh, ya right; I wish I had a dollar for every time they've said we're in the time of the end. Who does this jackass think he's fooling?

"A number of abusive churches create a fear of Armaggedon, reinforced with guilt in order to dominate and maintain membership. Cults use this as a tool of emotional control. By implanting fear and creating guilt, abusive groups manipulate their members into performing free service."

Drew help me out. I am not a JW. "We are in the time of the end", I thought this "end" began in 1914. My thinking must be incorrect.

Also will or/and when the is regular JW hear this?

    icocer,

To sum it up JWs believe the 'last days' began in 1914. According to their theology Jesus returned invisibly at this time and Satan was cast out of heaven to the earth 'to remain a short while'. Now that Satan only is here on the earth he is going to make everything much worse for all of us. All of the things in Matthew 24 then are said to have been fullfilled after 1914.

JWs no are looking forward to the close of 'this system of things'. No longer waiting for Jesus to return (becuase they feel he allready has), they simply await Armageddeon. The great day of Jehovah. They have speculated when this will occur many times, and this audio clip is a rescent example of how they hold the 'armageddeon carrot' out in front of their followers to scare them into thinking the end is close.

Maybe this is our "final" test, before locked into "judgement" And maybe armagedon is really near!!

(JH, what do you think lol)
