Has anyone concidered going on a talk show about the JW's?

Not to "hash out" some "personal" issues, but to give the general public the "proof" that the society is spewing nonsense to it's members time and time again about the "end is coming" for all who are not JW's.

It would be easy to get the proof with the recording that we all have access to on here. Does anyone want to try to contact the different shows with this? There are plenty of us who do not care who knows about our views and have nothing to "lose". Are there any legalities to concider?

Please respond with your ideas or opinions on this.

megsmomma-------------I have, and I've received feedback from some few others who are also willing, on this issue and separately on the issue of 'sleep rape,' whether by JW's or otherwise. [You can read my early posts to see what that's all about.] Dr. Phil's show has not responded to my email, nor to the ones who've said they've also written. If you want to start another round at it, feel free! I say, the more the merrier, and they have to take notice sometime if we keep at it!

I've done 12 TV call-in talk shows as well as radio call-in talk shows all about sexual abuse. I've spoken to the producers about doing one re the JW/WTS. They refused every time. They were slightly more willing to talk about cults in general but refused to name one of them for legal reasons.

What I have had more success with is community groups, some churches that welcome speakers, and colleges and universities. The programs in the colleges and universities were social work, counseling, and group dynamics courses in Management programs.

Your presentation needs to be tailored to the audience you are speaking to. When I have spoken in the Management courses they wanted info on how the group dynamics were used to control and manipulate people. I never told the group which cult I was with until the very end. They were always stunned.

The churches wanted a bit of the theological differences but were far more interested in the manipulation and control issues.

Social work and counseling courses were more focused on the abuse dynamics of cults and how to help people recover after leaving a group - a lot of info on dysfunctional families can easily be adapted into terms workers could understand

I think everybody is afraid to touch certain issues until after a lawsuit has been concluded and there is no adverse affects of being sued, I use to think about going on a talk show but what is the sense of it. I think instead of showing that I am over it, it shows the exact opposite. As far as the Society, whatever judgement God has in store is going to be more adequate for anyone of us to deal with both to the org and to us personally.

I agree with all that you have all said. I have written e-mails to Dr. Phil also, without response....but I will continue to try. I do think that God will give them their due though. I don't wish to "punish" the society as much as I would like to expose their lies to the public.

    Thanks for all your responses!!

I remember one time years ago there was an XJW on a talk show and grandma made me turn it off. I wonder why the media is afraid to mention JW's in a negative light, but have no problem trashing baptists and catholics?

As a matter of fact 700 CHQR AM talk radio in Calgary called me and I was on the radio today at 12:30 PM Eastern, no one from the Society would talk to them so they had to settle for me. They wanted information about Jehovah's Witnesses and the blood issue in light of the sextuplets in the news. I only got about a 15-minute warning so I had little time to prepare. There were no call-ins and I am glad, I have never been accused of thinking quickly on my feet.

I was only on for about 20 minutes but all in all I think it went well and I should be able to make a mp3 recording of it when it appears in their archives in about an hour or so. I can post a link here when it is ready if anyone is interested.

I am glad to hear there are voices out there other than mine, trying to get on the "the talks shows"

I wrote my book "Going Undercover To Rescue My Daughter, From The Cult Of Jehovah's Witnesses" just for the purpose to use as a catalyst to expose this cult. I am in the process now trying to get on the main TV talk shows, and I am thrilled to see others are trying too. I think it is the legalities that are hindering this from happening. But if there are enough of us knocking on their door, I know something will happen.

My vocus will be to expose how responsible the WTS is in causing dysfunctional families, mainly separating them through their policies of disfellowshipping, and branding those that resign like I did, as an apostate. Restricting members of your family to communicate with you. As my personal story shows I lost my daughter to this cult for 10 years before I went undercover to rescue her.

I am in communication now with a Psychologist in Penn. He has many ex-jws that he is treating for spiritual abuse. After reading my book, he has asked me for more data on cults and Jehoavah's Witnesses, which I have sent him. There is a need now, more than ever before because I believe there is great exit going on.

Thank you megsmomma for calling attention to this great need.
