I do remember Gumby saying something about being reinstated, by I thought he was joking. How awful for him to have to sit through all that crap again. I hope he will at least be able to start fading soon
LOL!!! Ya....isn't it funny how the Holy Spirit neglected to warn the elders that they were reinstating an 'apostate' into their midst? Musta bin an oversight.
I think it's called being desperate for someone, anyone, over the age of 15 to join the ranks. They might well overlook a few things to get him back.

That's his plan. My concern is: will they shun him again once he starts doing The Fade? I think they think he'll somehow embrace the religion all over again and realize how much he's missed it.

Gumby's getting reinstated? Well, you gotta do what you gotta do. I haven't been to a meeting since May of 2006, but it looks like I'm going to have to start going on Sundays.
As for Mary, I miss that beautiful face, and I want to see that real picture of you again. What a fox! I also miss your "attitude".

and if Gumbo needed to be reinstated to have his family more power to Him, but the religion can rot as far as I'm concerned. Damn good people trapped in it. I think MOST in JWism are good folk actually, but trapped in that cult mindset like we were.

I agree. The big problem is that everyone in Gumby's family are Witnesses: his wife, his daughter, his grandkids, his siblings, his parents, his aunts and uncles, etc. He does not really have any family members who are out of The Borg, so needless to say, he feels totally isolated. They're all brainwashed just like we all were and that doesn't change easily.
