Would you come back the organization if all disfellowshipping/other punitive actions were completely reversed?

If you came back would it be for association with friends and family only?

What policy and behavioral changes would the society need to make to "entice" you back?

    Zarco,

There is NOTHING wts can do, and NOTHING they can say that would tempt me to ever enter a kingdom hall again. I absolutely KNOW that they don't have the truth, so what would be the point of going back? If they offerred to make changes to their policies, I wouldn't believe them anyway, I don't trust them as they have lied to much too often.

I don't have any family in the org anyway, and as for friends, the ones I had as a jw shun me now I've left, so they weren't really friends at all anyway, just people who were friendly with me as long as I believed the same things as them.

"friend" wise and family wise I would have everything to gain by going back..... but although I am on death row...there is nothing that could get me back there....nothing ...I know the truth and it set me free....woo hoo

Oh there is nothing that could get me to go back (so sorry Mom and Dad), I've found something so much better in everyway outside of the bOrg. No urge here to return to the vomit of the society.

    zarco,

No. They don't allow Jesus his proper place. JWs have a closer personal relationship with their Circuit Overseer and Presiding Overseer than they are allowed to have with Jesus. They can talk directly to the PO or CO.

Even if they changed that too, they still add burdens to the yoke of Christ that God does not impose. They have so perverted the gospel of Christ that it is not even discernible when sought within their dogma. (Galatians 1:6-9; 3:26-29; 4:6-11; 5:7-12)

I would never return. I hope one day my family realizes that when Jesus said he came to put a sword to divide families he meant it was his opponents who would be cutting off sons and daughters and separating those familiar with each other. If they don't then they will never have a relationship with me. They are not cramped for room within me. They are cramped for room within their own tender affections.

You have a PM, feel free to call.

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul

I don't need their amnesty ... I did nothing to deserve action in the first place. Notwithstanding, if the Watchtower lifted all shunning of former members, I would look up a few friends and see if there is anything left worth cultivating. I would not go their Kingdom Hall, just as I would not ask them to go to Mass with me. But, if my friends were open, loving and wanted to pick up where we left off ... I would gladly have them into my home, and I would go to their homes ... have meals, share stories, play cards, see movies, go out to dinner, have a beer, etc. I had some good friends among the JWs, and were they to become so open, I see no barrier to enjoying their friendship again. But their religion ... there is nothing in the Watchtower that I need or want. Maybe in time they would see through their religion, because they would be exposed to more information about it ... and who knows ... maybe they would come out and just be good old plain-jane baptists or something!

Life is the journey not the destination. Going back to the jw's would be like a dog going back to its vomit.

Would you get into a car with a molestor if he was offering candy or trips to Disneyworld or paying off your mortgage? The Watchtower Society has abused, molested, murdered and slaughtered people, families, lives and souls. They and their phuquing rules can rot in hell.

I have been out over 25 years and can't imagine why anyone after escaping the deceitful controling infuence of the Watchtower would put themselves back under it. I think they did have some sort of amnesty program at one point because I had some elders call on me after I had been out well over ten years. They told me I could come back no strings attached. I can't remember how they put it but that was their meaning. It was a very odd meeting that didn't last very long. When I left I the Watchtower I sent WT and my congregation a long letter detailing how corrupt I knew the WT to be so it seemed strange they would even consider wanting me back. Even if I were ever crazy enough to go back they would be kicking me out within a month. The though of ever sitting in a KH again makes nauseous I enjoy reality and my freedom too much.

If they got rid of their punitive measures, I'd write and hand deliver the DA letter to my PO before lunch.
