DB1974 - I don't know whether payments to the WTBTS would be included in the accounts. If they are not included then that would be a bit strange.....maybe.

From memory they usually are- they were always mentioned in the accounts servants report when I was a dub.

    Thankyou for that Gill

I looked at all the local Congregations , and none seem to be doing particularly well. I looked at the lists of Trustees as well, and one Congregation, where the elders were always big on titles anyway, had Mr Presiding Overseer xxxxxxx. Mr Secretary xxxxxx etc as their list of Trustees, as if their titles would be of interest to a casual observer.

That doesn't look good. I reveiwed 5 congregations in my old area that I know well. I recognized about 90% of the trustee names. This was typical, how do they make up the shortfall? From their savings accounts?

3rd - I agree. That doesn't look very healthy. To have only £3433 coming in and spend £22 456, is quite a difference, much the same as some of the congs in my own local area. There must be some congs with healthy savings accounts, if they've been left money in wills etc, but I too would like to know how they handle these huge differences in income and expenditure.

Iamfreenow! That is bizarre that the Trustees would include their 'Titles' as well!

I've just had a look at the two 'Loughborough congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses'!

They've either got a Lotto syndicate going that has won big time, or someone has died and disinherited their family in favour of the local KH!

Sheffield Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is an interesting search to do.

Sheffield (Beauchief) has definitely just won the lottery, or else another family has been disinherited. However, what is interesting in the 12 Sheffield congregations is the ammount that contributions have actually fallen in the last few years!

Hi Badboy! It's interesting that point....Lack of Money! At first I was only looking at whether Income and Expenditure matched and THEN I noticed how contributions had actually overall Fallen in a lot of congregations in the years shown.

It may be a way to keep the society under the threshold. I'm assuming that there is a financial threshold that the British wts must remain under to maintain theirr charity status - just guessing cos some of those outgoings are huge. Dosen't make sense
