You have to be careful of getting involved in a rebound relationship. Give yourself some time.
Good place to meet guys, at the gym, bookstores like Barnes & Nobles, going to kid's ball games (single fathers try to go to their kid's games, older brothers like to watch their little brothers playing ball or what have you), church, at the park, popular eateries for lunch breaks, stock car races, gun shows, recovery from divorce workshops. . .
Yep. The perfect man.......
Yep, if they dont plug into the wall, get rid of em! Just kidding guys! (where do you guys hide the cord?)
I am definitely NOT dating anyone with kids again - not unless they are grown up and live in Australia. Its way too much responsibility! However the bookshop idea appeals.
I also wondered about museums and galleries....and of course what about outside the District Conventions - there's always a lot of smartly dressed boys prowling there - actually that is a good idea. What say you free2think? How about a bit of militant Midianite women style action - I'd quite like to go for the drama on the Saturday!!!!
I know its a bit of a laughed at suggestion but if you dont want to meet people in pubs and clubs you could try evening classes, then youve got common background straight away because you both want to do something enough to spend a bit of money to learn more.
Of course you may not meet the man of your dreams but you can make new friends and they might in turn introduce you to their friends.
Or try something a bit more adventurous - learn to climb - there are indoor centres with self belaying devices, canoe, windsurf - most places in britain have watersport lakes pretty near to them, those are really cool things to learn as long as your not very overweight, in which case its difficult to make huge amounts of progress until you have got some fitness back.
If you like sport - join the local supporters club, my hubby and I are in the local rugby supporters club, theyre generally a friendly bunch too.
I also joined the ramblers society 20-30's group they do alot of socials, not just walking. Pub nights(you obviously wouldnt want to go to those i spose), curry nights, go-karting etc
My first friend when I left the troof (other than my hubby and his friends) was a lady from our local takeaway. I got invited to her wedding and made another friend there too.

Now that would be very funny. You got a date sister.........
Prison seems like a good place to meet guys.
We can just oil you up and toss you over the fence! <grin>
Bluebell has some good suggestons.
Personally, I wouldn't wait to get out there and about town. But first, clarify in your mind, and have a talk with yourself about what would make you content with a partner. Be clear.
Then follow your dreams and desires, what are your interests? Example: yachting. manipulate yourself into the places where the yachters are.
Focus.
There is nothing wrong with being single and testing many waters, just be smart.
After my jw marriage to a cheater and beater and incestor, I stayed single for 15 yrs and loved it. But then the time came and i wanted a permanent partner. I did the above and couldn't have been happier now for, ahemm, the last 12 yrs!
Make sure you are emotionally secure first. Then explore, or settle. Go by your Gut.
