"The Prophecy" with Christopher Walken. Interesting and a little scary to see how "good" and "bad" angels think. "Fallen" is another good one.

Seeker, your comments are interesting. I would really like to understand why you don't get scared. Even though I've been out a while, some things really disturb me. Are you positive it can't be real?

I can't explain why I react the way I do. Maybe I can stomach violence and horror because I'm such a gentle person -- in other words, what I see doesn't trigger anything within me, or set off any inner 'demons'. It's just fantasy that means nothing to me, nor affects me in any way I can see. And I don't seek it out either, for those aren't the types of movies I tend to find interesting. But when I see them, I am not scared by them at all. Again, this is not at all true about real violence and horror. I find that I have no desire to see any of that whatsoever, and it does upset me to see it.

As for believing in demons, literal demons, I have found no evidence for their existence. Show me evidence and maybe I'll believe, but until then... I have experimented by doing many things JWs said would automatically bring on demon attacks, and nothing happened. If you would like to see one book that very clearly and thoroughly explains this issue, try Sagan's The Demon-Haunted World. If you fear demons, read that book and the fear will vanish into nothingness.

Heh, I left the JWs and immediately started exploring Wicca and other Neopagan paths, so supernatural stuff in movies hasn't gotten to me since my JW days. But I DID see a movie recently -- the only one I can remember -- that I found seriously disturbing: Hannibal. ::shudder::

It wasn't the very end that got me, though. It was the scene at the kitchen table.

*Rochelle, who still gets a bit creeped out whenever she thinks of that part.

Movies I get scared by...well, there are the Freddy Kreugar series, The Shinning I never was able to watch - too scared... The Sixth Sense was very interesting,
Schindlers List & the Diary of Anne Frank were 2 that scared me most as they were about events that man did to man - and that can be more horrifiing than anything the movies can think up.
Silence of the Lambs was scary as was "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle"
I won't watch Hannible - I read the book - it was too graphic for me!!

The first scary movie I ever saw was when I was 12 and a JW. It was the Nightmare on Elm street movie. #1. That terrified me, because it took place in the one place you have no control over, your dreams. The concept itself had me sleepless for a long time.
My mother(the JW) gave me one bit of advice that I followed for a VERY long time. That was to NEVER see the movie "The Excorsist". I followed that advice until last year, when I finally thought that I could handle it. It was very unnerving. But it didn't effect me too badly. Then they came out with the special edition. It had some extra scenes. The one where she is going down the steps in a crab walk, made me scream. I just wasn't prepaired for that. My mother was right about it being a very scary movie. But that also makes it one of my favorites.
The Sixth Sense was one of the most awsome movies I have ever seen. Although I didn't think it was scary in any way, I loved every bit of it. I own it on DVD and watch it often. I also bought the special edition of The Excorsist. You know, just in case my mom comes by.
