Will I go to hell?

    Luke 9:49, 50:

And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Jesus states that being a direct follower of him is not necessary for salvation.

I personally think, that even if god does exist, he would take into consideration my life circumstances, my personal view on the world (which is pretty good. I hold every life in the highest regard, I try my best to make others happy), and maybe cut me some slack.

    Why?

Because God is just like you? Why should he operate by your standards?

These are genuine questions, btw. I'm sincerely curious as to why you think that your version of a potential God is any more likely than another's.

Tell him you'll be saving a seat for him when you get there.

Only God knows if a person will go to Heaven or not - nobody else can make that call - not even with Bible verses to back their argument.

The nearest assumption you might be able to make, LastElf, is that because, at this moment Anony-mouse isn't a believer, there is a very real chance that they might not go to Heaven.

But you don't know what will happen in the future - a deathbed conversion a split second before death maybe? That's all it takes.

Yes, I realize that, and I'm going by present circumstances, not something that could happen in the future. All I was saying was that his philosophy doesn't fit in with the scripture where salvation is concerned. And to the poster who quoted Luke, if he didn't believe and trust in Jesus then how could he have used his name to cast the demons out?

And before you all say I'm judgmental, saying that he won't get into Heaven, I'm just debating his philosophy, comparing it to scripture that says otherwise (Since he was comparing it to the Christian God as far as I could gather, we have a debate every few weeks :P).

No, ever since they tore down Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, there won't be anymore Assemblies there.

It's always the ones who are cocksure they won't that go there:

    Oh well!

I guess I'll get no mercy, LittleToe.

God's standards are too high for lowly folk like myself. So I'm doomed.

I quoted that philosophy from another post on this forum. I just loved it. But now lastelf is giving me...hell....pun intended.

But don't bash him. I'm totally cool with everything he says.

Not just you, but everyone. That is why your friend mentioned Ephesians to you. Grace spans that gap. Is it harder to accept grace, or to make God's standards? Some find grace harder.
