Yup, that people who you trust most can turn around and stab you in the back, though sometimes I think I still didn't learn a lesson.

I learnt that a cult that is supposed to be Christian based can ,in time teach people to develop a hatred for people who are'nt JW's - Hatred in the sense of a lack of Philia love for ordinary "Amarets" - but now I try to care genuinely

I learned what conditional love is.
I was taught to be a human doing instead of a human being.
I learned prejudice.
I learned to believe in magical thinking.
I was taught to be in subjection to men.
I repressed feelings ie; to see what I saw, to hear what I heard, to feel what I felt, to believe what I believed and to act on them would get me into trouble.
Most of all I learned fear, fear of man, fear of god, fear of the world which I lived in yet didn't belong in.
I learned that Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs are the dis in dysfunctional.
I was taught to be dysfunctional in a functional world.
I was told to wait on Jehovah and I learned he is a lazy god.

Regarding human beings----the Society for years resisted that expression. They instead referred to it as "human creatures".
