A family takes their cat to the vet instead of going to the meeting and the cat dies.

Satan and his demunz are controlling the media to try and persecute Jehovah's faithful followers. They do this by telling half-truths and outright lies about God's people.
It's a tactic that works for the WT too. Crazy world we live in ain't it?

There was a devout witness in my old hall that use to claim everytime she had trouble the demons were testing her....this included anything, like a traffic accident, a fight with her husband, someone getting sick, etc.
I finally got so tired of hearing it, as a teenager I said, "You're just not that important!" during a morning out in service. There was dead silence in the car.
It shut her up for awhile.
Everytime there is some new revelation about Bush's admistration, I get to hear from my mom how the demons are running the government. Oh, and the pet food recall, that was definately due to Satan and his demons running this this system of things!

I have seen this happen to two family members. It's not as far fetched as you think. My wife's grandmother and my grandfather both had open heart surgery to replace valves. They DID have marked changes in personality, they were not the same afterward.

The governing body doesn't particularly care about whether things follow the bible, but they do care if an activity is something that can lead a person to thinking for themselves and making their own decisions. They also like to throw in a few that will guarantee that the faithful are experiencing a sufficient level of persecution.
The one aspect that shook me the hardest was video games. I especially enjoyed those in the RPG (role playing game) genre as it allowed me to let my creativity run free. I don't feel more alive than when I'm bringing something into existence, whether it's a poem, story, or bit of comedy.
Those games can take a lot of hours to complete, however, and the governing body realized that for their indoctrination to hold, the person needs to have it reinforced regularly. Someone playing video games, isn't going to have as much time for their regular field service persecution or their mind-numbing study of hypnotizingly repetitive watchtower publications.
To sell it though, the point out that a lot of these games have magic, violence, or legendary creatures. If they really wanted to stick to that definition though, the would recommend that their readers avoid the bible as well. Oh that's right, they do discourage people from studying just the bible.

When it came to buying things at garage sales, I never got the connection. After all, what if I bought something at the store, what if the sales clerk was demonized and had touched it. How would I know what items at the store had been touched by a demonized person along the way of the sales route?
Demonized:
Records, tapes, CDs, MP3s, anyone but a JW in good standing but to be safe only "kingdom" songs from the WTS; no free-lance renditions or arrangements. Otherwise JWs would have to dump all their Michael Jackson albums, and considering how George Benson has bounced in and out of the Borg, it would get too expensive.
TV, movies, tapes, dvds from all but official WTS sources; Disney is out because of all the witches. Soaps are out. No watching sports...violence you know, like the roman gladiators. No violence, sex, swearing, false religion.
One JW couple told me about being invited to an elder's home to view Forrest Gump...they were stunned at the language, the elder and his wife hadn't noticed.
SUVs, 2 door cars, motorhomes, race cars, sports cars, are all tools of the devil.
Can JWs own cars named the following:

I'm not saying there were no personality changes. What I'm saying is that they JUSTIFIED their attack on transplants as being cannibalism and attributed the change in behavior to disobeying God's laws and paying the penalty.

they provided an article about a person who did get a new heart donated to them and suddenly they got the old personality of the donor. The transplant changed everything about this man and he was no longer the same normal person
I heard this about 6 months ago, when my Auntie (who used to be a nurse way back in the dark ages, so she knows about these things) said that she knew of a brother who got a heart transplant, and he suddenly went out and brought a leather jacket and a motorbike...and all because the donor happened to have been a bikie!!!
Another of her 'wise' stories was the one about the cornea transplant, and how the recipitent suddenly saw, out of one eye, how the donor saw things!
Do they know how utterly ridiculous these stories sound?
And yet they still believe...the mind boggles!!!
