JW, or interested person (as the case happens to be), may have a penchant for numbers from being around their Father, who know the number of hairs on all our heads. In this case, numbers reflect interest in people (whoever we are).
Stats are often a good indicator of demand and interest.
Fred, I imagine you are reading all posts as a string of titles, and you reply to single posts. Most posters on JWD don't read threads that way. They read the THREAD, with each post in consecutive date order. Read that way, it is nearly impossible for a reader to connect your responses to the question.
Rather, to satisfy JWD etiquette, I suggest you copy and paste the commenter's question, like so:
For the most part, each post gets one comment. I start from where I left off, each session.
And provide your response directly below, in the same post. Sometimes I post ALL the replies to a thread in wordpad, compose my reply, and post my response once. I hope that helps.
