Jehovah's day is scheduled to come in on the entire inhabited earth and will serve as a snare for those whose trust and faith is not fimrly placed in God's word and his saving power. It doesn't take a great deal of imaginiation to project how this thing is going to end up. A couple of strategically placed nukes and this whole system gets turned upside down and we will be face to face with a tyrant that will make Nazis and the Soviets seem like amatuers. My 10 year old was supposed to go to Washington DC on a trip with all the patrols from Palm Beach County...a thing they do every year as a reward to the patrols. 5000 kids on a train headed for the capitol. You think THAT wouldnt be a prime target? Shit...that trip is SO not gonna happen for MY kid. Im not into being a hero just to please Bush and Juliani. If they are surrounding the capitol with even MORE military now and putting the vice president in a freakin bunker, theres NO WAY Im sending my child up there.

That (first) case of anthrax was only a few miles from here..that set me back some. But where that stuff is concerned there is nothing you can do about it really. Nada. So...we order that pizza and go to that little league game and wince when those planes fly over.

I still think you scare away more people than you endear with your style of presentation. It's not up to you to pass judgment. I realize you may say you are only quoting scripture, with the interpretation coming from the GB, but I do not believe the GB to be divinely inspired at all.

I haven't prepared for much - except I have made it a point to do my regular re-stcoking of the medicine chest and freezers along with canning so I will have food for this winter. Many stations on the tv were encouraging people to stcok up a small kit for themselves so that they would be okay should something knock out the normal stuff for a while- I think a 3 day supply was what they recommended.
I beleive the recomendations was as follows (this is the best my memory may get)
(Remember - all is listed for 3 days per person, so if there is more than one in your household - you need to increase it as needed)
3 gal of water
6 cans of soup or meats
can opener
matches
socks and underclothes (3 days supply)
clean clothes
warm blanket
wrapped/packaged crackers and cereals
flashlight
extra batteries
medical supplies (Prescription medicine, Asprin and such also)
radio (battery powered)

I also add something to do to keep myself busy - a book or the likes and some things to occupy the children ( I make up a snow day packet of activities and keep one on hand)

The recomend to replenish the water and foodstuff every 3 mos.
