Would you have married a non JW

Nope. I remember praying that someone I had grown up with would come back in (he was disfellowshipped), coz he was HOT and I'd had a crush on him forever. I kept kicking myself that I didn't go out with him when he asked me a few years before.

    Completely out of the question.

Even today, I would have to marry someone who had been a witness. If I couldn't find one, I wouldn't get married.

In my opinion, this shows how what I experienced in the Org. goes a bit deeper than just brainwashing. I really don't know what to call it.

After the 10 years of hell I went through with the pretty little brainwashed JW I married, I wish I would have married a non JW.

At least I'm out of her cult and she's out of my life.

I don't think I really would have but I did have non-JW boyfriends from time to time, mostly when I was disfellowshipped the first time. It was just so hard when the pickings were so slim among the local JW's (and/or I was invisible and marked and evil and horrible and slutty to the available JW brothers) and I had tons of attention from "worldly" guys at work.

But in the end it was going to be a long hard life being married to one of these guys. What would we do for the holidays? What if we had kids? One boyfriend wanted me to have lots of Catholic babies. That wasn't going to work!

Now none of it is an issue. I'm glad to be with someone who has a JW background so he understands from where I came. And the holidays are not such a big deal. Neither of us really care about them that much. They are a non-issue. But if we feel like getting excited about them, that is OK too. *Sigh* How pleasant!!!

Yep. I did it when I was a teen. I had a relationship with a worldly man while I was auxiliary pioneering. Guess my heart really wasn't in to the JW life.

When I divorced and was reinstated the "brothers" wouldn't even give me a shot -- I heard the term now and then "damaged goods".

So screw em. My second husband (I'm keeping this one) is also "worldly".

I would've married a non JW in a heartbeat! But then again, I was hardly ever a "good active JW" because I realized the inconsistencies from a relatively early age, and I was itching to get out. I only ever dated one JW right before I graduated high school. He got the boot when he gave me the "don't go to college" speech.

I'm just the opposite. If my husband and I ever parted ways, I would be *less* likely to marry an ex-JW...in my mind, there's just too much chance they'd decide to go back...for family or whatever...

Did marry outside of the Lord. It's been a 10 year civil war with momentary and brief periods of cease fires. We've gone from bricks and bats to hand grenades. Soon we'll be bringing out the ICBM's. Take Cover!!! Incoming!!!, Incoming!!!

Only if she was interested in helping me & others progress spiritually, like I try to do with others. Regular meeting attendance is key to my success, even though I've been in a DF'd-like state for over 15 months. I've tried to help a few so far, some JW, some not. Sadly, nothing's worked out so far. Perhaps it would have been better to learn from counsel, rather than my own experience, on this. I seem to have a tendency to be quite short-sighted. I have good glasses for the physical type. Now to find something that brings my vision in line spiritually.

I was 15 when I "turned my back on Jehovah," as they say. But before that, I would only fantasize about worldly boys as my converts, lol. If I imagined anything between me and, say, Worldly Waldo, it had to include me "winning him over to Jah's Way."
