I`ve lived in the B.C. mountains most of my life..I`ve encountered a diverse range of wildlife..Even one that is`nt supposed to exsist, except in legends and fairy tales.....I live in a different mountain range now, than I have in the past..It`s either the North Pole or a Desert, depending on the time of year..The snow is near all gone and the desert is reclaiming the mountains.....I went to the general store for some supplys..A friggin 1hour round trip..I`m on my way home now..I get off the public road and start my way up,higher into the mountains..As I get closer to the Ranch..I see something cross the old wagon trail road, but I can`t make out what it is..It looks strange though,I haven`t seen anything that shape up here..I slowly turn the corner so I don`t scare whatever it is.....It`s a bunch of Wild Turkeys!..LOL!!..The females were a grey colour..The Male was beautifull, with deep rich colours..He had a big fan of tail feathers just like a peacock..I mean this turkey was "Pimped Out!!"..And..This boy could Strut his Stuff!..LOL!!..It was amazing to watch..Something you`d see in a movie about Pilgrims and Indians at the first Thanksgiving Dinner.....I`ve never seen Wild Turkeys before..I`m sure I`ll see alot more cool wildlife,as the weather warms the wilderness...OUTLAW

How do you make your living mate?

I've always been curious as to how people who live at the very edges of civilization support themselves. Do you grow your own food? Or hunt?

    I'm so city-fied, I can't imagine living without a grocery store 1/2 mile away...LOL

Not ridiculing though, if anything I'm envious...

There are many animals here now that weren't several years ago. Deers everywhere, wild turkeys, ground hogs, skunks, geese and ocasionally a bear and cayote.

Purps..Girl,even if I had a camera..I could`nt post them on this ancient monstrosity..Patience my good woman..The new computer is comeing..LOL!!.....What-A-Coincedense..Along with no pic`s,theres no paragraph`s..Seven006 has the same problems and his computer skills exceed mine.Hopefully the new computer will allow paragraphs. Its a pain in the ass for me to read too.....DanTheMan..Out here, your a Logger,Rancher,Prospector,Trapper, executive recreational real estate developer or retired.....Lots of people grow thier own food and hunt out here.I buy mine when I go to town. All my meat is on a tray wrapped in plastic..LOL!!.....Ken..We got all that too, plus Rattlesnakes..Havent seen any moose. They live farther up north..Moose used to sleep just off my patio at my last place..It was cool...OUTLAW

Sammieswife..You had a bunch of Toms at your place.???..That must have been impresive!..They do know how to strut!..LOL!!..I forgot the name for a male turkey.."Tom"..That brought back a flood of memories.....When I was a kid we lived on the coast..A JW family had a turkey farm where we would get our turkeys for turkey dinner.I don`t ever remember domestic Tom turkeys being that colourfull...OUTLAW
