Here in Vermont, the wild turkey was reintroduced when about 30 were released in 1969. This year, the Fish & Wildlife Dept. just said, we have an extimated 40,000. I see the flocks almost daily on my commute to work. I've also seen whitetail deer, bald eagles, flocks of Canada geese, moose and more.

Spring turkey season runs the month of May, and I'll be out there for sure!

I like living in a wild place. Not quite as remote as you are, though!

Fantastic story! It makes me feel like I am in an old western the way you describe - or should i say watching one unfold. I think I need to pay you a visit!

Cant wait til your new computer arrives and you can go out taking pics and posting them. In the meantime surely you have a camera and you can begin collecting pictures of the changing season so we can see the pole to desert exchange when your PC arrives!

Oh my god! We had some wild turkeys around here too. I took the photo before they could get away.

Living in the countryside must be great, the peace, the fresh air, and the openness and I suppose with satellite TV you can enjoy a variety of channels.

I think you are not entering into the spirit of things there - LOL! You'd be out and about enjoying nature!

We have oodles of wild turkey you turkey!

They are thick now. Turkey hunting season is in May which scares the deer out of the woods and they tend to run in front of your car. Totaled a car that way.

I'm going to Google wild turkey to show you what we have here. Ever have moose meat OutLaw? Good stuff and makes the richest gravy for those spuds. You can keep the rattlers. We have those in the cliffs in western Wisconsin along the Mississippi River. Actually other areas too. Hope I never have to meet up w/one.

Be back w/a pic I hope. Have to go through the "process" to post a pic at this site.

The only wildlife I get to see are lizards, snakes, and roadrunners for the most part. Every so often I get to see a coyote. You hear them every night when they have a great hunt. AO-AWOOOOOO!
