I believe we should not be too hard on this poster. The WTS is already working their magic on him. He is feeling guilt-ridden for accepting a pension for something he EARNED. He is afraid that no matter what he does, his worship may be viewed as worthless. I would say the WTS has him exactly where it wants him.

Guilt, guilt, and more guilt. Oh, and never good enough, no matter what you do.

Why is it that you need others to tell you what is Scriptural and what is not? Are the Scriptures somehow deficient in that they need to be expanded upon by an extensive collection of rulings and policies? Are you trying to allign yourself with organizational policies and laws? If so, I would only suggest that you go read the book of Galatians very slowly and thoughtfully.

Ask yourself what the apostle Paul meant when he repeatedly told Christians not to allow themselves to be placed under law or to be slaves of men.

Scripturally, you may wish to consider the Roman army officer Cornelius from Acts chapter 10. He and his entire household accepted faith in Jesus and there is no record that he left his military service upon becoming a Christian.

My JW mother lives quite handsomely off the pension and benefits her NYC superior police officer husband (an unbelieving mate) EARNED throughout her years serving the Watchtower Society. The Watchtower accepted his earnings and now his pension as charitable donations and looks askance at wherefrom they are derived.

The Watchtower does not fret about "worldly" money as long as it keeps flowing in to their coffers. If you EARNED a pension and benefits through any means, I can assure you that 1) the WT will not hold these benefits against you or your family; and 2) They are more than glad to divest you of your funds.

If the WTS can accept money from money that was invested in the stock market on philip morris cig. and they also own 50% of a company that makes War Weapons, if I were you I wouldn't worry about retirement money that you have a right to accept. You ask a question "Is my worship worthless.' As long as you remain in that cult, it doesn't make much dfference what you do. You are as good as those who claim to be "annointed." Sorry if the truth hurts.
