Will this arrogant, presumptuous organization that has ruined so many lives, that loves to talk about humility and modesty, ever present a formal apology to all those who've suffered at their hands?

No, they are far too humble and modest to do something so utterly irresponsible as to apologize. If they did that then they would have to send out an entirely new set of definitions to the rank and file. Worst of all they would have to backtrack on their advice for all to lie whenever they are backed into a corner and feel they are engaging in theocratic warfare. It would require that they have character, which they clearly don't have. They are the lion, the tinman and the scarecrow all rolled into one.

They lack a heart, conscience and courage, the three main ingrediants required for an apology.

I asked this question to a couple of elders. They claimed that the society has apologized in the past. I said 'no, I mean REALLY apologize.' The answer I received was that 'you can't just keep apologizing, you will lose respect.' I sat there shocked, with my mouth wide open knowing that I was making the right decision leaving the borg...

They probably don't think they have done anything to apologise for.

After all, they have helped their followers to live upstanding, moral lives, and avoid
the traps that many of us worldly folk fall into, like drug abuse, smoking, alcoholism,
marriage breakups, immoral sex, STD'S etc.

At least, that's what they say........

Thanks too ALL, without exception, for these thought-provoking replies. BTW, DocBob, thanks for the WWCG link! I actually mentioned this apology to my Dad. But my sarcasm took over and I said that since that resulted in reduced membership, the WT would likely not repeat the WWCG's "mistake".

It's not in their nature to do so, how could they since they are ruthless opportunists who are out to exploit their victims and are totally unconcerned about the damage they cause? We can't expect the wolves to apologise about anything but rather to boast about their achievements.

I would not discount the possibility entirely, but I do not consider it probable.

Apologies have to be followed that show repentance, no?.......turning away from bad ways?........What would then be their point of existence......none.
