    Moridin (or modirin),

This is a very tough situation. I hope that your family comes to grips and does not disown you. Hopefully, they will before you leave.

I'm sorry for how your family are making you feel. You're a brave man who will fight for freedom for all of us. "us" includes your family, although they don't see it that way.

    peace,

    Somebody,
Caught in the act, I didn't know for sure anyone would notice my fiddling with Moridin's name.

The army has great benefits, retirement, tuition programs, BA programs, everything under the sun. Just dont let the military training pass on to your personal life, in other words dont treat your GF/wife the way you drill instructor treats you. Always have compassion for your friends and loved ones but never ever for the enemy.

    Yerusalyim,

tee hee. I just caught lydia's too. so now he's Mordrin too.

    Good luck moridin/modirin/mordrin !

I only noticed because when I typed the name, it didn't look right ( and it wasn't right) so I went back a few posts to see how it was spelled and saw it spelled more than one way. I wasn't rying to pick on ya. I've become known for my typos here.

    peace,

Thank you for what you do. Thank your wife, too.
And thank all of you who are in the armed forces, protecting our right to gripe, bitch etc.
    May we never forget.
    Love,

p.s. Do tell your recruiter that your JW family is violently opposed regarding the asthma issue. We do tests where I work to rule out asthma all the time for the military--it has to be significant. Shouldn't be a big deal. Good luck to you.

Good luck dear! Know that there are many in this world that are proud of you and the courage it takes to stand up for the rest of us in this country. Personally, I don't have what it takes to be in the military. But I am sure thankful y'all are there to do it for me! I'll find other ways to show my patriotism, but you have thousands supporting your decision...whether your Mom does or not!

    Love,
    Andi

I second all the best wishes of the other posters on the board, and I too recomend reading AGuest's post and filing it away for future use. Shelby really can do her homework.

And I would add that you, Moridin have my deepest gratitude for what you and your family are doing. If you or your wife feels the need, send her over to this board to post or to click on some of our open emails.

    All my best wishes,

    Dungbeetle

    Moridin,

If your family "disown" or shun you because you have joined the army it is a violation of human rights.

It's kinda late, but I just got back from my exams. I scored a 79 on the aptitude test which is supposedly very high. So they're offering me a lot of different jobs and opportunities and extra pay. The downside is that they want me bad enough to try and ship me off a few months earlier than expected. I might be leaving in two to three weeks. Oh well I'm almost ready for boot camp. Thanks again to all for the encouragement.

Well I got some news from my mother today that shocked me. She called me up and said that she thought it over and decided that she had been selfish because I was her only son and that she would accept the decision that I made and support it. I was pretty suprised...what a change from the other day.
