I remember last year, a lot of blame against the Republican Congress for doing nothing to stop big oil companies from raising prices. Democrats are in office now, and no one seems to be saying anything. So let me be the first? Why are the Democrats not being the night and shinning armor about gas prices?

Gas prices are suppose to top $4 in most areas by June. Two main reasons,

1.) We have still not built any new refineries in 20 years and most of the ones we have, rotate being broke down.

2.) China is buying more and more oil each year, and driving our prices higher from our dependence on Middle East oil.

So, what is going to happen. Will the economy do well this summer in a $4 plus a gallon market. In our area, it is suppose to head towards $4.50 by midsummer. Next summer, they are already predicting the $5 mark. Wonder what the Democrats plan is????

Both parties have the same plan.

I agree, but at some point, the people who bought in to their silly promises are going to hold them accountable. Not everyone voted them in, to get us out of Iraq.

We cant leave Iraq, If we do a mad man will start making weapons of mass destruction there. We killed our watchdog, allie and peacekeeper, Sadam Hussien. Now the united states has to stay there and prevent what George prematurely warned us about.

And maybe along the way we can establish some bases for the Jewish peoples protection. Since they pretty much run the US Government. And regardless of what our congress tells us I dont think the Jewish people want us to leave Iraq. And they have the money and power.

the oil co's are ripping off the public. and the gov't is in on it. every time the president of IRAN farts the price goes up 10 cents. if there's a blizzard in alaska the price jumps 25 cents. they have more excuses to raise the price . than the wt has for thier false prophecies. it's all a scam. just wait for the first hurricane this year., summer driving season, memorial day, 4th of july, mothers day, arbor day sound like a good reason to raise the price 15 cents. wait IMUS GOT fired no wonder the price went up 25 cents since then. god forbid if president clinton has an other sex scandel. that should be good for A 40 cent increase. didn't rosey o donnell quit her job. that means by the end of4 next week the price will rise another 7 cents. and that's a prophecy. john

the oil co's tested this last year by bring the price to $3.50 everyone cried they lowered the price and everyone shut up. they conditioned the public last year to go even higher this year . just watch. and you thought the wt was bad.

If this is of any comfort we already pay it about 1.3 euros/liter which is currently over 6.7 dollars/gallon.

Oil prices will continue to increase, and the only thing that a government can do about it is warn people to move closer to their jobs and start growing vegetables. It's more of a problem than you think; everything you buy will become more expensive because of what it costs to transport it to you. An economy based upon the abundant and infinite supply of oil is going to falter when the supply stream fails.

It's time for a recession anyway.
