I've dated both races (black & white) and find it great. IMO the children have the best of both worlds. It's all in how you look at it. Look around you...young ones are dating outside their race and it seems to be the norm. We are all humans. Problems occur within our own races as well...

You can't help who you fall in love with. Although, I do believe you are more compatible with somebody like your own background so, at this writing, it is not for me.
There have always been people who crossed the racial lines but maybe not in as many numbers as today. We do live in a multicultural society where people are exposed to other races. I have been around interracial couples and they seem like any other couple to me. Although I am not behind closed doors with them to see the problems. It is sad though if people are seeking somebody of another race because they want prettier or whiter children. But, hey, whatever..

In my opinion each race should be preserved black, white and yellow so there shouldn't be extensive intermarriage between them. Having said that though I add that a certain amount of intermixing is desirable because the mixed race offspring can serve as bridges between the races and have unique interesting traits and abilities not found in the individual races. This enriches mankind with the more exotic types white with black, white with oriental, black with oriental, coming in all inbetween shades and mixes. Variety is great.

Greendawn,
I agree totally with your comment. In fact, the nationalities are probably from mixing of the races to some degree so some mixing is desirable.

I am a white woman married to a black man . We are happy together and love each other after 30 years of marriage. I found cultural differences made it hard as even though his parents were jws they would have prefered he married another Jamaican girl .So we had a hard time family wise. We have 3 kids and found that even though we live very close to Toronto which is a melting pot of multicultrualism, our area is still very much white bread.
Our children have have some hard times with other neighbours and at school.Even at high school, where I thought the students would be more accepting of differences in people. My daughter was called racial slurs by some and also my son..I have found over the years, interracial relationship requires more effort and real love for each other to survive
..My husband's brothers wife left his brother after 15 years of being together. The way his parents treated her because she wasn't "acceptable" finally drove her away..WE have just found we have to stand stronger in many ways.Hopefully..the way people view other people , culturally and racially will get better for future generations. If anyone asks my my opinion on marrying someone from a different race or culture, I just tell them, just make sure you really love and respect the person you are going to marry. That is the best way for your marriage to survive.

I am very much opposed to inter-racial romantic relationships. Although I believe that on an individual level, it is possible that persons of different races may feel as loving and close to each other as persons of the same race, I think that the destruction of racial differences that mixed-race children produce mean that on a societal level that it should be avoided. I believe that racial identity is a useful and desirable concept to exist in society.
Why? Aren't we all members of one race, the human race, and shouldn't we judge by individual? For a start, although it may be an unpopular opinion, I believe that racial differences extend beyond skin colour, face/skull shape, or any other physical structure that you care to mention. There is a definite relationship between race and crime levels, economic and educational achievement. Whether this is due to cultural reasons or not is hard to know, but I feel since it is the same nature of correlation all over the world, and throughout history, that I think it is perfectly reasonable to believe that genetic factors had at least some influence. The achievements of civilizations that consist of mostly Blacks are not impressive.
Yes, I do find it difficult to hold views like this. I can talk to a non-White person and feel friendly towards them, and forget about their race and view them as an individual. However, I believe for the long-term survival of Western civilization that an attitude of White racial preservation has to become more prevalent.

I'm mostly attracted to the human race. If one of my kids would want to marry a different race I'm against it, like if they would want to marry a goat or a dog or a horse, I think they should stick to the human race. On a serious note I'm from a mixed "race" I'm part Scottish, French and Native American and I turned out O.K.

Race is a man-made taxonomy that observes some randomly chosen properties of the human body, skin colour being the most prominent one. As such, a "mixed race" is only a "race" that can be defined linguistically by means of two or more external points of reference. If those man-made reference points are ignored, the "mixed race" would only be "another race", based on the combination of genetic properties. If the reference points are changed, what is called "race" today could instead be classified as "mixed race".
An example, through the times skin colour and shape of nose have been important characteristics in determining race.
Race 1 is characerised by the combination of the genetic proterties skin colour A + nose shape C.
Race 2 is characerised by the combination of the genetic proterties skin colour A + nose shape D.
Race 3 is characerised by the combination of the genetic proterties skin colour B + nose shape C.
Race 4 is characerised by the combination of the genetic proterties skin colour B + nose shape D.
So is race 1 a separate race, or is it a "mix" of races 2 and 3?
If race 1 (A+C) is a mix of race 2 (skin A) and race 3 (nose C), then logically race 2 is also a mix of races 1 (skin A) and race 4 (nose D). Which makes race 1 a mix of a mix with itself as a component.
So, we have to decide whether the points of reference ("proper races") should be the two genetic combinations 1 and 4, or the two genetic combinations 2 and 3. This choice is a random one. Which makes the classification into "races" and "mixed races" also a random classificaton. -
