Do your burial wishes reflect your inner most beliefs?

I'd like to donate my body to science. I would like be one of those skeletons that hang around in college labs. Or if I can't do that I would like to be strung up like a bird feeder in front of a KH somewhere so the dubs could get a peek at what it'll be like in thier paradise.

Well, here's a related question. Let's say an elderly person has let it be known that they don't want to be cremated. But when they pass the family realizes that the expense of an embalming/casket/burial plot is beyond their means, whereas a cremation is way less expensive. How big a deal do you feel it is to honor the request of someone who will never know the difference?

What they dont know wont hurt them!

This is a pretty interesting subject ...

my wishes have been 'do whatever is cheapest'. I think that is cremation. I could truly care less what happens to this body after I die. Makes no never mind to me.

I guess the funny part is I am not an atheist in the usual definition of the word.

it would be interesting to donate my body to science. Let the up and coming doctors dissect me for learning purposes.

Interesting to the up-and-coming doctors, but not for you.... you'd be dead, remember??

Dr. House: Is it still illegal to do an autopsy on someone who's still alive?

Yeah, that's why I don't have any burial wishes.

    Warlock

So true Warlock! As a JW I never thought about dying, what I wanted for a funeral etc. Now hubby and I have discussed this - I know exactly what he wants, where he wants his ashes spread etc. Me - no funeral. I don't want one of those solemn events where everybody stands around the casket and says what a good job they did, everybody whispering etc. I want a party, with one of those big tents on the beach, lots of music, laughter and booze. I plan on being cremated and half my ashes buried up here with my husband and the rest taken to my home state of Massachusetts to be buried with my family. I don't want my ashes scattered because I need to be somewhere, I need to be in a place. When my dad died in May 2005 he was cremated and mom has his ashes. She wants to be cremated also, and we will bury their ashes together. I will probably be buried with them when the time comes. (not too soon)

I don't care so much about my remains as I do about those who I leave behind on earth.

If buried, I'd like to be put 8 foot under... just cause its cool.

If I'm cremated, I'm sure some of my friends would want tattoos done with my ashes in the ink.

Either way, I just want people to keep living their lifes...
