I sure hope so, AND DAMN SOON! I don't want them to celebrate the next million milestone.
As for will they, I have seen some horrible news: a new unbaptized publisher in our own congregation (they found me at work and boasted about it). And worse still is Nigeria. That's why I keep harping on Nigeria. They had around 280,000 publishers last year, but more than 450,000 Bible studies. Worse, those Bible studies are more likely to become publishers than the same number of studies in the United States or Europe. Other African and South American countries are also showing significantly more studies than pubs, but none worse than Nigeria.
An even worse potential threat is China and Bangladesh. In China, they only have a few thousand Witlesses and a population of 1.3 billion. If that explodes, they could easily have more than 2 million at one point. If they reach the same Witless/population of the US, they would have about 4 million in China alone. And Bangladesh has somewhere near 150 Witlesses and a country of 150 million people. They are chronically short of Witlesses. If that were to change, we could easily see another 600,000 or more drones out of there alone.
Truly, in the developed world, the peak is here or near. The US had paltry growth. Canada had nearly zero growth, and Japan had negative growth. I think the growth is going to shift toward the poorer countries because there is no education and plenty of superstition in those areas. Bad news.
