The interesting thing is "The Society knows dam well about due process and everything legal from the worldly point of veiw. The whole org. is made up of lawyers right from the top on down. The biggest and the best in the game! They know dam well how to defend themselves and have been doing it with our money, and at our expense, for the last 130 years, but they cannot find it in themselves to offer the very ones that keep there stupid org. going any justice at all. Can't rank and files see this? No wonder the org. doesn't want anyone getting a higher education!

I thought the "Judicial System" died with Christ.

    Minimus,

    Interesting.

The WTS judicial system is not unique but follows the traditions of Church Law, which was the main legal system in the Western World until the late 1700's. The Methodists for example, had a very similar arrangement to the WTS in keeping their community under control. As State Law took over the procedures of Church Law, religious courts became marginalized, and most eventually gave way to secular law, which continued to allow religious courts to hold sway only to serve religious infractions.

Most religions eventually evolved to leaving the matter of law-making and the pursuit of the justice in the hands of the secular authorities, though some like the WTS have had a hard time letting go of their adventist past.

I looked up an old post on this matter which may be of interest to newer readers : http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/53559/1.ashx

    Cheers - HS

Hillary, I do remember that excellent thread. My question is, where did they get this concept which the JWs adopted? Certainly not scripture.

    Minimus,

Hillary, I do remember that excellent thread. My question is, where did they get this concept which the JWs adopted? Certainly not scripture.

Yes, that is true though arguably so, as even within the NT, church law as outlined by Paul did suggest a transference of legal concepts from a Judaic inheritance. Shunning for example, was not a new concept to Hebraic Christians. The WTS tries to paint their 'justice' system as being superior because it is based on scripture and in some ways it is, and in some ways it is not. What it fails to acknowledge is that it has changed the modus-operandi of its judicial system frequently over the years, always citing scripture to defend its changes. This proves that it has no clear scriptual mandate for its system, as if it were clear these confusions as to how to deal with adherents who contravene their laws would not occur. The reason for these confusions is that both scripture and C18th church discipline are anachronisms, and are not suited for use in civilized societies. As to the evolution of Christianity in the West, secular Law did not exist as a seperate entity for many centuries, in fact until relatively recently, and Church and Law were one. My own irritation is not so much aimed at cranks like the WTS who cruelly use C1st concepts to control their flock, but with the cowardice of secular authorities who turn a blind eye to the damage and harm that come as a result of this process. The WTS is guilty of numerous cases of manslaughter of persons who have killed themselves during and after this process. I have never heard of one case of them being bought to book over this. HS

I think it was the dream of phychopath Joe Rutherford to have a kingdumb within a kingdome, a subculture with its own laws wherin he would be the king of his own little universe. He was very clever, and had to know alot about how to get away with this in society. Especially when it came to making sure the rules did not apply to him. He was from a heavanly order and everyone else was a slave to him.

He blurred so many lines that he actually got people beleiving that he was a fatithful and get this,{ loud mouth, arrogant} discrete slave, while he drove around in the most expensive cars money could buy and owned five homes during the depression. He even had air conditioning in the 30's while the brothers toiled for peanuts in their little hovels. The whole attitude design and make up of the worst judicial system ever came from him and his super ego. An ego even Saddam would envy.

I do not believe in "confessing" anything to any person. Anything I have to say is between me and the creator.

I would never subject myself to their judicial system. I would never even humor them by asking them any questions or telling them anything.

Don't you all know that the Watchtower's god has made sure the JW Judicial System is set up like it is?

The Watchtower god invites division and what better way to divide than to split up families.

The Watchtower god has had a lot of practice perfecting his tactics and the JW's are perfect targets for him because they don't belive Jesus or the Bible.
