Frank, if I were a terrorist I would just love the way you are thinking. I would also love it for you to spread around the way you think. Bush may not be to bright or even able to communicate well but beleive me, he has advisors well over his head that are far more intelligent than he is. He would not have lasted this long nor would he have been given another whopping amount of funding for the war approved by congress if this were not the case. There is good people all throughout the middle east but I tend to look at radical Islamists as a virus that is infecting the globe and it calls for a swift antidote or even disectrion.

If you look at it this way, you will realize that in ridding ourselves of this infection of ideology that is twisting the minds of good people, well some good tissue will get damaged too in the process but it is better than having no response. It is better than infecting the entire globe and it must be done for the sake of the rest of humanity or the rest of the living tissue if you will.

With your idealistic response by trying to respect there rights and being good guys or attacking ourselves, we are aiding the virus that is attacking us. You can go like this for a while but with no response sooner or later that infection will prevail. Once we have eliminated the disease hopefully the moderate ones will prosper and join the rest of humanity in a more civilized world.

It would be great if we could talk with these nuts, but you see how effective that is with the witnesses. You can multiply there sick mindset by ten times that.

Trust me, if you have been paying any attention to the agression of radical Islam in somalia where there were public whippings in the streets beheadings hands chopped off for theft by Islamic code, and stonings, with little or no trial for those accused of adultery, you will know that this is a disease that must be stopped. Fortunalty the Ethiopian Christians were able to drive them back but what would you be saying about there rights, if this ended up on your doorsstep. Be grateful and proud that your soldiers are keeping these nut bars at bay. This is just one hot spot. Do you know how many terrorist organizations there are and in how many countries. If you thought the witnesses were hard to get rid of and spread despite anything said or done to counter them, you are dealing here with a viscious ravenous beast that will stop at nothing and cares not about death, humanity or rights. They make the witness's look like saints.

In essence solving the witness problem has similarities. The boys at the top have become power hungy radicals that are spreading a virus in the form of poor and faulty information. You don't kill the whole organization. This board is helpful for victims but ineffective at dealing with the beast itself. The governing body must be removed and proven falible to the people. The only means this will happen is with government intervention and jail time in this case. The government does have the power, but there must be an organized unification in public outcry, for this to happen.

So to in the countries that have radicals holding them hostage to a vial life, there must be regime change from the top to break the spell, and a new system to replace it.

Unfortunately this is a less than ideal world and there is no doubt that faced with terrorist attacks the security services of the USA have flouted the anti torture laws by using more subtle psychological torture methods or methods that don't leave physical traces eg enclosure in an overcold or overhot room or by extraordinary rendition which means letting countries that are into torture like Egypt to do the all out torturing.

On the other hand Islam is an arrogant, aggressive, innately antiwestern religion and those that take it seriously will always be a problem. They don't mind setting up medieval states like in Iran all over the world.

As I mentioned, in matters of national security in a war with an enemy that has no value for life you respond differntly. The United States is not a regime that practices torture on it's citizens and by and large respects and enforces the law. It is the radicals that are turning it into the twilight zone. When order and civility is restored so are the rules regarding normal practices in normal society. It is the nature of the aniaml wer'e fighting. You don't take a knife to a gun fight. We would not be doing these things to a country that has respect for its citzens. They havn't a clue what language that is. Some folks only understand one language and it's a very painful one.

Perhaps the radicals won't even think twice, but I gauruntee you they will have a deeper respect for their enemy and have more reason to fear the repercussions of there actions towards the rest of humanity. I again repeat it is the lesser of evils in a world that is not ideal. The atom bomb wasn'thumane either but that severe response was the only language the Japs undrstood and Hirohito accordingly signed an unconditional surrender. The world became a better place after that. Yes a big evil in one shot but the lesser evil when you consider it ended the war, and perhaps saved more lives in the end. The big picture. The lesser of evils. That is the only choice sometimes in a very sick world. If anyone has a better idea I'm all ears.

Oh well, time for bed. It's 7:00am and I have to return to my coffin before the sun rises.

One more thing. Before Frankie jumps on me while I'm sleeping for my comment about torture. I have a question for everyone in real time. If there was a person you knew had information about poisoning a water supply and was completly uncooperative and you knew thousands of people would die would you say pretty please and here's a smoke? or would you start giving him a little pain incentive to jog his memory. Remember this is war and national security is at risk. Some radicals understand only one word. Jihad

If you saw someone torture your mother with no mercy or shoot a little girl in the head, would that make easier? In a lot of states such folks are put to death or locked up indefinatly. Isn't indefinite lockup a form of torture. Where do you draw the line. Being Humane and having dignity for all is just a matter of degrees. At leasty we have checks and balances in our system. I don't beleive any place in the world is perfectly humane unless you live in disneyland. Am I for torture. I find it revolting just as I find killing revloting, but I still think that the better part of the states intntions and code of ethics swings to a far better horizon than most of there enemies.

Those islamic fundamentalists themselves come from a religion and culture that uses methods of a medieval ruthlessness when dealing with those it considers its enemies. There isn't a single democratic moslem country and it's not any colonial country but the native rulers themselves that are doing it.

    Ty,

If those children in Guantanamo are locked up it's probably for a good reason. They were obviously assisting on the batllefeild and have been duely brainwashed in their childhood as I mentioned earlier how theses kids are raised. That is a danger to society. It's not like they were plucked out of there homes while in bed. I find it appalling that amnesty international bust the states balls when the human rights abuses in China where there is still slavery, traffiking of human oragns et. or Kim Jong il who lets his country starve while buying nukes to threaten everyone. Or in Darfur where raping mutilation starvation and killing are like having a tea, or in Zimbabwe, where Robert Mugabe directly dfies international law kicks out the white farmers, starves his country Rigs elections, and kills anyone he fancies. Or what about suicide bombers in Afghanistan or even palestine. What an outrage to harp on the States. Why not pick on those doing behheadings or violating womens rights beyond beleif. I'll tell you why Frank, because it's easier to pick on a country that has values and tries to be more decent than the others. It's easier to hold us to account. It's like saying to a killer"oh shit you just cutthat guys head off , oh well I understand, Hey look at that guy over there he just spit on the sidewalk lets gang up on him

I can tell you haven't a clue. You don't even know what "amnesty international" is about do you? "International" should give you a clue, or perhaps you can do a little search of the site before you start spouting your misinformed BS. Which is typical of the type of misinformation you have written so far on this subject.

OMG, The "Japs" needed to be slaughter by 2 atomic bombs dropped on innocent civilains to teach them a lesson is ok by your standards. I see by your use of the term "japs" you view them as less human than your nationality. You villianize whole populations as worthy of mistreatment, and slaughter in order to make this world a better place, it sounds so typically racist, callous.
