Welcome to the friendly world of JW.com, where views that oppose the ex-JW crowd are duly attacked and the author of such are regularly insulted and have their family history called into question... and that's done by the NICE ones!! Ex-JWs aren't so different from the average JW in their thinking patterns and methods, but you probably already knew that.

As to your question, I CAN be a moron, on occasion, but usually not on the level of some. I try, though. The UN thing... well, I don't know much about that and don't much care. Hope this helps.

I appoligize to senoir posters for sterotyping their" senoir" status.
what i should have said was "with the exception of larc, and about 10 other posters, out of over three thouand registered users,an X-JW can be the victim of personal attacks if he or she in any way agrees with any part of the WBTS" is that better?

Ring, Teejay....actually EX-JWs are different-we present FACTS to prove the point we are trying to stress. Lets face it, emotions run high here because most are very passionate about the stance they take. But the bottom line is facts and documentation.

On this particular issue, lets just look at the facts:

a.Registration, in the context that RING suggested=government required

b.Application="REQUEST" for membership.

The WBTS APPLIED for membership, therefore they made a CONSCIOUS choice to affilliate themselves with a worldwde organization which they have repeatedly described as a harlot, a whore. The WBTS is nothing more than a friggin JOHN who gets his rocks off on a streetwalkin crack-hoe. END OF F*CKIN STORY!!!

Boozy, do you pray to god with that mouth? I thought "I" was an XJW in search of facts. after hearing for 20+ years that the WBTS opposes the UN,its hard for me to believe its been "Johning" its self to the U.N.
I have written to the WBTS for there side of the issue.If their explanition of the situation is not sastisfactory in answering the question,I will come before this board and admit the "dark side" has won me over.

Ex-JWs are different from JWs because they present "facts"? Okay, I'll take your word for it.

The similarities I had in mind revolve around the second point you mentioned... the emotional component of their arguments. In my time here, and as mostly a lurker on the old h2o, I found ex-JWs to be as venomous as the governing body when directing their words at or about those who disagreed with them. Remember, I mentioned "thinking patterns."

Victoria, a newbie, asked what I thought was a simple question. One longtime poster promptly called her a "moron, Rosie Rottencrotch, a JW loser, a troll" and another longtime poster, ignoring said name-caller, told the newbie to "chill out."

For Ring and other newbies who are concerned about the name-calling here:

Posters who resort to personal attacks and name-calling, do so because they have no valid counter-argument. Rather than attack the message, they attack the messager. Much like how the WTS attacks and name-calls those they disagree with.

Hence, those who resort to these tactics are still in the mind-set of the Watchtower. They still think in the black-and-white thinking like JWs do.

I have been constantly attacked for stating opinions and viewpoints that are different to others, but the attackers gain nothing by doing this. They only prove that they are not able to discuss issues like an adult.
