I have a pet monkey that is going on 20 years old, and another that is 12.

That is so cool. I told my wife I wanted to get a pet monkey,, she isn't too fond of that idea.

JH, your cat looks like one of our 6. Have had many cats and dogs, all rescues, one cat lived to be 20, another 18. They got pretty crotchety, but seemed to enjoy themselves until right before they croaked. One dog, medium sized, died in her sleep at age 16 after a day at the river. Several cats and dogs made it to 14 or 15. It's always hard when they go - even a long life for them is too short for us. flipper

Princess, our dog of 11 years disappeared last summer.

Our cat of 10 years was killed by pit bulls about a month ago.

We now have the other two cats - one a kitten dumped in our yard last summer and another I adopted from Friends Of Felines about 3 years ago.

We have also been taking care of the landlord's dog and cat from downstairs for a few years.

No more pets. So I say . . . Someone's bound to find us another one any time now.

I had a dog which lived to 14 - she got knocked over by an ambulance

Then I had a cat who lived to 15 she got ill and died - she had FIV and wasn't supposed to live much beyond 4 years old so she had a good innings!

At the moment I have 2 cats both 13 years old - one was a semi-feral kitten when I got him, the other is a rescue cat who I've had for just 3 years.

My Kasey girl is 13 and she's still going. I'm actually getting sad at the thought that she won't be around much longer.

I have Kito which is an African Grey parrot and like Rocco, he will probably out live me as long as he doesn't get a bird disease. I got a bird because they live so much longer . I got tired of losing my pets to old age.

I have 3 goldfish which just won't die. Been at least 7 years now.
