The GB is a cloaking device for the FDS

  I spent my first 25 years in the JWs and could never figure out who the FDS was. Today it was bugging me - why can't I relate to the FDS even though I now know it is nonsense, but even more important, why can't JWs understand who the FDS really is?

  Let's look at some facts. The FDS (faithfull and discrete slave) are a REAL body of men. Can we prove this - yes. It is not simply a case of finding out who these men are although with a search of corporate records we could find their names if we want to. Why is it so difficult to identify who these men are? The answer to that is that these men(FDS) DO NOT WISH TO BE IDENTIFIED. In the early days of the Watchtower the FDS wished to become anonymous as it was figured they could benefit from such an arrangement. This endeavour to become anonymous resulted in the formation of the GB (governing body).

  In timely fashion, the governing body could function as a real body of men that Jehovah's Witnesse could actually relate to. Now this governing body could act as an intermediate between the Jehovah's Witnesses and the FDS, thus hiding or cloaking the FDS. Now the FDS could function as an anonymous entity. The Jehovah's Witnesses could now perceive the FDS as something intangible and unexplainable with the connection to something Holy from Jehovah's Temple. In fact the FDS refers to itself as the holy temple class (WT April 1st - 07). So now the power brokers (FDS) could operate almost invisibly behind the scenes(Wizard of OZ) and dictate just about any directive via the governing body and ultimately to the Jehovah's Witnesses.

  The fallacy is that even the male members with their faculties are not solicited by the WTS for input on doctrinal and prophetic matters, let alone the women in the 144,000. The power is wielded by the few men on the GB which functions in the same political swingsway and influence making that local elder bodies do.

  One new, young elder came to his 2nd or 3rd elders' meeting with Bible and research in hand and was laughed out of the room by the older elders who knew that only the elders' manual, the BOE (body of elder) letters from Bethel, and the current COs directives mattered....the Bible? hahahahaha.

  Yes, I would say it is the opposite. The FDS is a mythological cloak for the Governing Body, giving them authority without responsibility.

  I used to think that the GB were the real power brokers. Of course I was mislead which was the very intent of the FDS. Let's look at this power structure. It can be proven that the FDS OWNS the GB. Look at these watchtower quotes

  WT April 1st 2007 page 28, paragraph 11

  Today, Jesus directs us by means of "the faithful and discreet slave," represented by its Governing Body and the appointed elders.

  WT April 1st 2007 page 30, paragraph 16

  At times, an elder may not do things as directed by the faithful slave class and its Governing Body.

  Notice the word "its" here conveys the meaning of ownership. This puts the FDS higher up on the power structure ladder than the GB. It is not hard to see that the GB is therefore the public relations manager for the FDS. That is why the FDS seems so apparently invisible but all powerful. The Jehovahs Witnesses know the FDS is very active as they have the ability to receive messages from the heavenly communication channel yet they are ignorant to just who is hiding behing the title of "FDS" and will remain ignorant for as long as the FDS promotes this deliberate deception.

  Cultswatter, I think your failing to understand who the FDS is in jw speak. They are the remnant of the 144,000, period. Blondie was trying to make a point that the remnant are not solicited for ideas or instruction to be used by the GB. The GB are the FDS in REALITY. They GB dosen't give a damn about what some 90 year old great grandmother has to say concering the organization.

  Oh my....color me embarrassed at this one!

  In my 30 years as a loyal and obedient JW (tm) I never quite had figured out the difference between the GB and the FDS and if there was a difference--what in the world it was! It was just another one of "those things" that I thought I would eventually find out, "those things" that sometimes did not make any sense, but I thought it was MY stupidity that was the problem.

  My guess: Watch for Jehovah's Witnesses to separate from the Watch Tower Society. The elements are all in place but the timing is still wrong.
  
  The Governing Body is the FDS. The anointed as the FDS went away May 1, 2007. At best the FDS is a ghost ship in the fog, you can see it in hazy outline, but there's nothing there. Never has been.
